Well here’s the thing: not every Marine and Yale grad wants to monitor pregnant women. And not every Marine and Yale grad wants people with children to have more voting power than those without. So yeah I think weird applies here.

The weird protocol is a stroke of genius... which is probably why the programming took so well.

By making ourselves the arbitrators of what is weird, strange, unnatural we imply that we are normal which is a narrative that we would like to be adopted, and if we keep saying it, even in this backward way, people may start to internalize it like branding.

We lefties do have a real knack for weaponizing language, but this is an especially good one.

You’re making way too much out of what is simply a good description of the fact that Trump, Vance, and the MAGA crowd are outside what most people regard as normal and decent behavior.

I'm arguing that CNN and MSNBC, out of nowhere, started using "weird" to describe mostly Vance at the same time, to the tune of 100+ times per day (or so I've heard, but people have posted compilation videos).  You are being a good lemming, and effective troll to boot.

Trump's "weirdness" is baked into the cake at this point.  To suddenly start calling him weird is, as I said, an attempt on the Left to pull an Aikido redirection on the fact that Harris is, in fact, really weird.  And as comrade @nobodypointed out, a good stroke of strategy by the Left and MSDNC.

I'm not aware of his position on voting power and children, but it is an interesting one.  A culture without children has no future.  Opening the border to let in a swarm of people from other cultures isn't the solution, despite what you say. I haven’t watched a minute of CNN or MSNBC in decades so I can’t say whether they’re calling Trump and Vance weird. I am aware of the Kamala campaign and Dems calling Trump weird. It’s effective because it’s true. 

I think most politicians are pretty weird tbf. But even among that company, Trump stands out for being very creepy, old and strange. If you met him at a party and didn’t know who he was, you’d cross the room to get away from him.
