I forget what podcast I was listening to, but the host was talking about how vital it is to recognize patterns. These same people would have been in a lot of trouble in a world where life was much more difficult. They would fall prey to things more often than they should have without proper pattern recognition.

Along these lines, I recently said here that a defining characteristic of liberals is a belief that everyone in the world is driven by their same motivations.  For example, they believe that Palestinians, given the opportunity (again) for autonomy, will kick out Hamas, develop a thriving democratic society, and live peacefully next to Israel in a two-state solution.  If only Israel would leave them alone, those mean oppressors!

Perhaps distilling it further, it is a basic belief that all humans are fundamentally good, where "good" is defined as the motivations of the liberal.  And as such, they believe that being nice to those people is the same as helping them.

There have been scientific studies that show Democrats tend to be far more acceptable to group-think.  This is why the MSM propaganda works so well with Dems.

This is an excellent and spot-on description.  It's why most of these people fall prey to cults too.

It’s either that, or they aren’t exposed to the patterns (i.e. - they are stuck in the Liberal bubble).  The main difference between liberals and conservatives is this - conservatives are constantly exposed to liberal media, whereas liberals are hardly ever exposed to conservative media.

A lot of conservatives, like me, were hardcore liberals in college.  I believed all the idealisism and victimization crap.  Then I immersed myself in the real world and realized it was all a con-job.  Anyone over 30 who is a liberal is either in a bubble, stupid, or a life-loser who wants and needs a leg-up.

They are complete opposites.  Questioning the official narrative is critical thinking against common wisdom.  It takes courage to go against group think.  People that go along with groupthink often knows it is complete nonsense, but go along with it out of fear of looking stupid.
