If/when Trump wins how many of you democrats will run for safety?

You all say he will use the military against American citizens to enforce his newly found authoritarian dictatorship. 

I imagine you don't all want to have to live in a dictatorship where democracy has been stolen away and no longer exists, so you must have plans set up for how you will handle this....just in case he wins, right? 

If Trump wins, what are you plans?

For me? I'll stay put and live my life normally and enjoy the up and coming prosperity. But what about all of you that live in fear? What will you do? Where will you go?

My very first though is of the liberal woman who went to the inauguration in protest and became a famous meme because she got caught on camera in a neon vest screaming like her family had been murdered. 

That woman's acted as if her entire world and life was falling apart because Donald Trump was the president. In reality, it only changed because of her choices that day. Had she simply stayed home, she would have realized that her life would be very little changed over the following 4 years. She certainly would not have experienced anything close to causing her reaction that day. 

So many people act like their elected officials, especially POTUS, has a profound impact on their daily lives when it really doesn't. Sure, there will be some policy trickle down effects but lets be honest....  if we pretend we actually live in a democracy  (hint: we don't)  then these cries of dictatorship and threat to democracy are extremely hollow given that we already experienced 4 years of a Trump presidency with none of that, and we have certain checks and balances in place to make sure that doesn't happen. 

 

I assume they all will be moving to Mexico or Canada?

They may find that Mexico and Canada both have fairly strict immigration laws.  They may find they cannot work or own their own homes.  It is wierd how other countries enforce imigration.  Those of a mind to leave, and I presume it is very few who would have the gumption to back up their words with deeds, would be those most unlikely to understand the concept of lawful immigration to another country.

 

Some would be surpirsed at the difficulty or time necessary to move their money off shore.  Many would be surprised at the difficulty of bringing their pets with them to a new country which would at least quarantined them if not deny them entry.

I can only speculate, but I'm guessing no one who goes to Trump rallies would want you there. 

That being said, if you were poor, or Chinese, or black, would you leave if Trump wins? I don't see the relevance of your highlighting your financial situation and race. I remember back in 2016 when a whole litter of rich Hollywood trash said they would leave, and shockingly, none of them did.

I am not leaving no matter who wins. I was born here. (Assuming Trump still thinks California is part of America which im a little skeptical of) I'll be fine either way.  But some of my friends, family and neighbors might not be if he wins.

Life goes on either way.  I want Trump to win, I'll be disappointed if Harris wins.  But either way the sun will come up the next day and life goes on.  We are going to have a mental health crisis the day after this election because the hyperbole has been taken to the point people believe it that the other side is a threat to their life and country.

If you truly believed Trump to be the next Hitler or next Kim Jong Un, and his leading staff and followers to be the next nazi-esque nut jobs praising and enforcing the dictatorship in this country that would use the military to silence the people and take all their rights away, would you leave? Because, that is what the democrats say of Trump on a constant basis. 

Yet in reality what will happen if he is elected is he will get things in order and allow the weak people in this country to continue to rant and cry on a daily basis as they enjoy the benefits that Trump would bring for the actual citizens of this country.

I heard an interview with Trudeau which discussed immigration.  That interview gave me the epiphany of why the Left in the US wants all of these immigrants -- the Left discourages families, particularly large ones (I presume going back to Marxist ideologies), but they are on the hook for all of the entitlements like Medicare and SS (I know, SS isn't supposed to be an entitlement, but they've spent all of the money).  So basically, they need working bodies in the future to support these things.  It's a big house of cards that will eventually implode, but no politician (including Trump) will take it on, because it is political suicide.

Canada is worse off than we are; something of a glimpse of our future, should we continue our path.

That being said, Canada is selective in their immigrants.  Whereas in the US you can get in based on family relationships due to the 1965 Immigration Act, in Canada, you actually have to show value.  You are a doctor?  Come on in!  You are a Haitian migrant?  Get in line over there, eh?
