I'd thought it was a slam dunk for any Republican other than Trump since the Dems had been fake villifying him mercilessly for years. I think though, because of that though the win is sweeter. Having him be relevent for 14 years means he will have moved the GOP completely off the Bush/Cheney/Romney trajectory which is a masssive upgrade. In doing so, he's also made inroads into the minority communities, hopefully they increasingly wake up to what's going on around them too.

Popular vote was around 74 to 71 million, hardly a blowout despite Harris being a very weak candidate tethered to an unpopular POTUS during a period of high inflation and economic uncertainty. 

My hope is the Dems pivot hard to being a pro labor party of working class people vs. the snob party of coastal elites they’ve become and stop looking down their noses at large swarths of middle America. 

Based on their track record over the past 30+ years I’m not too confident.

Gen X pushed Trump over the top.  What's special about us?  We're the parents of most of the school-aged children.  

We don't want our young men being vilified for doing assertive masculine things, calling it "toxic masculinity."  Young men are lost in our society; much has been written about it.  (As a side note, this is why young men also voted for Trump.  Dood took a bullet in the ear and pumped his fist in defiance.  That's badass.  That's masculine.)

We don't want our teenage girls, confused by the flood of hormones and attention from the boys, to be told that maybe they are boys -- here, take some testosterone, which duh, makes you more assertive and confident.

We don't want our elementary school kids to have to declare their pronouns or gender preference.  We don't want them learning about gay sex acts or going to drag story hour.  If they tell a teacher that they think they are the other sex, we demand to know.

If you have kids, you understand this.

If you want globalism you are not a centrist. That is left wing, and even far left wing. I don't understand how you don't see the Soros issue. His goal was to subvert the law by installing DAs who decriminalize things that should be criminal.
