Whoopi Goldberg claims bakery refused her service over leftist views: 'They did not like my politics'

The liberal hate filled crotch rot beast trying to create more hate. Nothing like trying to take out local businesses because you are an angry butthurt liberal clunt. It's the liberal way I guess. :dunno:

Whoopi Goldberg claimed on "The View" that a popular Staten Island bakery refused to serve her because of her political views, but the bakery’s owner has denied the allegations.

Goldberg told the audience her birthday order had almost fallen through due to what she claimed was the bakery’s objection to her left-wing political stance.

"They said that their ovens had gone down, all kinds of stuff, but folks went and got them anyway, which is why I’m not telling you who made them," said Goldberg. She claimed that her order wasn’t rejected because of her gender, but rather because "they did not like my politics."

Goldberg, an outspoken liberal, will not speak the name of President-elect Trump on air.

Entertainment Weekly later identified the bakery as Holtermann’s Bakery, a 145-year-old family-owned establishment on Staten Island, by examining the Charlotte Russe desserts themselves. The packaging — pink polka dots on a white paper cup — allegedly was a tell-tale sign the desserts came from the family bakery.

Bakery owner Jill Holtermann denied Goldberg’s version of the events, explaining that the bakery’s issues were not politically motivated but stemmed from mechanical problems with their boilers, an ongoing challenge in their building, which was built in 1930.

"I said to Whoopi, ‘I can’t do it right now'," Holtermann told the outlet. "We have so many things going on with my boiler."

Holtermann reiterated that her inability to immediately confirm the order had nothing to do with Goldberg’s political beliefs, adding, "I didn’t want to make a commitment that I can’t carry through," given the existing technical difficulties.

Staten Island Live reported that Holtermann's has been "bombarded" with calls since the episode aired.

At least Oprah sells her soul to the highest bidder. Whoopi is just a vile human being that hates people, her country, and her life.

She didn't mention the bakery by name, so she wasn't trying to take them out.

Sounds like was she entitled to special treatment.

If her allegations are correct than it's not "special treatment", it's discrimination (which is legal if based on her political beliefs).

Seems a focked up from Whoopi from the start.

So she got her order - then she goes on TV to say it was politics?  WTF, she got the damn order. Now this poor woman has to deal with the fallout.

Despite the outcry in the other thread that Alex Jones free speech rights were being trampled, I bet nobody would object if the bakery owner sued Whoopi for defamation, I know I wouldn't.

Good take. I think she's desperate for immediate ratings for that shows inevitable demise.

This one is a real reach. I can't think of any other reason for her to do this.

After she was told by the owner that it was not available.

Do you think this 145 year old family owned company shouldn't be trusted over an actress political hack who's an extremist hate filled liberal?

The fact that it is a 145 year old family owned company doesn't mean the current family owner doesn't discriminate against folks because of their political view.

I'm just going by the story - but she wasn't exactly told it wasn't available.

So Whoopi is the one who is alleging this was political - not sure what evidence she has offered to support that. The baker says mechanical, and didn't want to commit to a delivery she might not have been able to do in time.

Also, just because you make a request to a baker, doesn't mean it automatically is granted, it's a take a number business, the lady might have had 100 other orders ahead of Whoopi's.

Clearly more details need to be made before we can come down on either side - but based on the story, I'm guess the 145 year old bakery knows something about customer service.

Lost in all this is the fact that Whoopi needs to pick up her own birthday cake, because she has no friends or family.  Who picks up their own birthday cake?  :(

Mebbe the guy was just doing her a favor by not allowing her to stuff her face with cake. :dunno:

I think Whoopi entering an establishment which prepares food may well be a health code violation.  I would have told her we could make it, but she will have to pick it up, outsidce, or pay for delivery.

How did they examine them?  Were they invited to Whoopi's party?  Or did Whoopi post pictures of them, which would lead discerning paparazzi to figure it out?  🤔

The pastries and packaging were on "the view" when she was complaining about it. Everyone in New York knew exactly where they got them.

Has she considered that they didn't want to serve her not because of her politics, but because...well...certain ethnicity's are bad tippers and they didn't want to get stiffed.

People tip at the bakery?  I've been doing it wrong.  I owe a few bakers an apology.

True story: I had a dog once that told me to put her down if she ever looked or acted like Whoopie Goldberg. The dog's name was Rusty.

RIP Rusty. 😢

There has been rumblings that Whoopi's hygiene is not the best.

She looks like one of those old gray mops that has been used daily for the past 60 years and which was never washed.
