President Biden pardons son Hunter

Recommended Posts

I doubt Biden pardons himself.  But the timing of the Hunter pardon is telling.  Most pardons transpire after sentencing, and where the individual has actually served time.   One notable exemption on this would be Nixon, not great company to be in.

Biden had to act fast to avoid the presentence investigation, what would likely come out of that would be devastating for Joe.

I will say the timing was kinda dumb on his part, the night before everyone goes back to their normal routine and will talk about it.  Guess the Biden campaign has never heard of a Friday news dump

Now do the gun crimes.

Here you go.

If you lied to buy a firearm, fear not the feds.

Your chances of being prosecuted by the Justice Department for falsifying information to illegally buy a gun are almost zero.

Reviews by the National Instant Criminal Background Check System in fiscal 2017 led to 112,000 gun-purchase denials because people were in forbidden categories, according to a new report by the Government Accountability Office (GAO). The Justice Department’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) investigated 12,700 of those cases.

How many of the investigated cases resulted in prosecutions?

Twelve.

That’s 0.09 percent of the cases ATF investigated.

Remember last week when you said the Civil Rights Act destroyed the African American nuclear family?

That was funny. You say many stupid things. 😂 🤡

He had made the claim (paraphrasing) how the Democratic Party has always been racist. I pointed out that LBJ was the one chiefly responsible for getting The Civil Rights Act of 1964 passed. He should have just admitted he was wrong or called TCRA some sort of outlier or an exception. Instead he doubled down pointing to how it destroyed the African American nuclear family (as if that somewhow was the intent of LBJ and Democrats 😁)

I would opt to eliminate the power completely.   Maybe leave clemency....or a commutation.   but full pardons?  Nope

This subject comes up at the end of every administation.  I do not have an answer for the problem of abusing the power.  It would be nice if there was an amendment stating that if a sitting President vows publicly to not pardon a person at any time while he or she is sitting that they cannot thereafter go back on that pledge or vow. without themselves serving any sentence in the stead of the pardoned person.  That might eliminate insincere vows used in campaigns.

Maybe also make it such that if a President pardons a campaign donor that the Presicdent must personally repay all of the donations not to the donor but to deficit reduction and if the presidnet canot make that payment then they cannot issue the pardon.

Too bad YouTube wasn’t around in 1964 or else he would have posted some random interview of one person claiming something tangentially related

The hypocrisy by guys like @Jon_mx, @Patented Phil and others never fails to amaze me. They are willing to buy into any story about Biden’s corruption no matter how flimsy or unproven. Conversely every accusation about Trump is false.

The only standard they appear to have to reach these conclusions is that Trump is on their team and Biden is not. Which is why I have become both bored and disgusted by these corruption stories.

I love corruption stories as they inform us as to the possible behavior of our electeds, and they inform us about the biases and motives of the opposition party and of the press.  Are they a Roschach test for us observers as well, no doubt they are.    I suspect your current dislike of this has to do with your political affiliations and the administration which just abused the power.  You would like the story to fade away so it causes you no cognitive dissonance.  Do i have any proof of that opinion, no, just an abidding suspicion .

Your suspicion is wrong. First off I have no cognitive dissonance regarding Biden because I’ve never been a fan. I separate his effectiveness as President from all this other crap. Second I’m honestly sick of the Trump corruption stuff too,

Couple thoughts.

1) I do find it somewhat funny that the left, that always believed their party was the one with honor and the one that does good things, is in fact as corrupt as the side they hate so much.  Power leads to corruption.   Facts

2) Biden got hosed on this election.  He absolutely positively did not want to drop out and he was forced to.  Even though lefties like Squish and Timmy want to believe Biden did it for the good of the country.  He did not   And this is one of what might possibly be a few actions where he flips the bird to the democratic party.  He knows how this will look.  He knows the damage this will do.   He didn't care.   He's pissed and lashing out like an 8 year old.    And he told his assistant to not take Obama's calls.

So you’re saying he was not OK with dropping out of the race and is mad they replaced him with Kamala?

I don't know if he was OK with dropping out of the race..

As long as Joe Biden was politically viable, it was good optics to not pardon his son; particularly during an election year when the idea of him pardoning him could be framed as a potential abuse of Presidential power.  That narrative held true through Harris' run.  Once she lost, he probably said..... "!@#$ it....this will make my family more whole".

Oh look, the two toadies, Gutterboy and MDC leave out the fact that Kushner did his time in prison.  Not surprising.

Of course Trump should get a pardon.  That was one of the reasons for the historic landslide election last month.

I want Father Trump to pardon every member of his family born and yet to be born. These degenerates will keep persecuting him and his family for decades. They are sick

You left out the part where that someone aides & abets bad hombres regardless if they rape or not. You can’t give comfort to those who wish harm and not expect blowback

Dudes pissed at the system - both sides.

He's gotta know he doesn't have much of  anything left.

Taking care of his last remaining (scumbag) son seems reasonable.

I'd be going wild having a few months in one of the most powerful jobs in the world. - And pretty much zero accountability.

Aside: Hell, I'm starting to think Jimmy will outlive Joe.

PS - Shane Gillis on Biden/Roomba is hella funny.

Disappointing because he said he wouldn’t. If he hadn’t pledged not to do it I wouldn’t have a problem.

This is the correct answer.

I would pardon my kid. I would have never said I wouldnt pardon him though.

Hunter's blanket pardon goes back to January 2014.  He started at Burisma in... wait for it... April 2014.

I'm sure that is a coincidence.

Agree.  I asserted months ago that he would pardon his son, and I did not have a problem with it.  Any father would do this for their son.

That said, going back 10 years?  The timing of it? Suddenly using the Trump talking point about legal abuses?

Wow......
