Maybe if the guy and the woman and her husband are all friends, and she tells the guy she made brisket for her husband's poker night or something, you could pull that line off.

Basically I think you'd need to be good friends, and it would have to be the right situation.

I don’t think I’d need to be friends with the couple. If I meet a woman at an event and for whatever reason she starts telling me that she got her husband tickets to the US Open for his birthday, I could easily say “wow, your husband is a very lucky man!”
