Chris Farley.

He told me that his mom thinks he drinks too much.  He was drinking double Jack Daniels and Coke.  He said "If my mom asks, tell her it's just coke."

His mom was about 90 pounds....his dad was about 500 pounds.

When in vail, I worked at a hotel affiliated with the steadman ortho clinic. We would get quite a few athletes from across the us.

i went to grad school in san Francisco and would go out around Union st (“the triangle “).  Met many local players at the bars.

Slept in room semi-adjacent to the Dalai Lama (big hitter). Didn’t meet him but was that close!

Same trip gave Adam Yauch (Beastie Boys) change for a twenty.

Just sports people.

Sweetness (I was only a kid and I had like a 5 min convo with him at training camp)

Flip Saunders (he was coaching in the CBA at the time and we had dinner with him after a game)

KG (and weirdly, his sister Sonja while signing some loan documents for a bank)

John Randle (my buddy drunkenly kept calling him John Rambo to his face)

Kent Hrbek (at the grocery store.  He gave me a fist bump)

Harrison Smith (we lived across the hallway from him his rookie year.  Our dog Reecie would lose her mind when she saw him)

Joe Mauer (we shared a suite with him at a Dave Matthew's concert)

A few other random local hockey players and football players.

It's a shame that 100% of FF Today think you are going to hell for blasphemy.

You aren't kidding.  He and his wife lived in Birmingham.  I'd see them around town now and then.  I spoke to him in a hotel the Phillies were staying at during an exhibition game here back in '99.   Just super nice people.

Along those lines, most of the famous people I've met are baseball players.  Including Michael Jordan during his 1994 time in Birmingham.

Yep!

I met him twice in 2000.

His wife's name was "CHERRY".  I met both of them.  Sweetest Couple in world history.  Probably the most humble quarterback and wife ever!

And I would be proud of it. jk.

But, nope, she was slightly on her way to that when I met up with her. Her dad is the one who focked her up though. 😉
