It doesn’t seem logical to shoot into a van at all, especially if it was only at the back of it, no way of knowing who if anyone is inside.

No. First I need to correct something about the Gestapo. They arrested people to be deported from Germany and occupied countries. Most of them had no idea where they were sending them too. The Gestapo has some guilt for the Holocaust but not guilt at that level. It’s an important distinction, and it’s why most Gestapo members were not sentenced to death at Nuremberg or at other war crimes trials. 

Under Trump ICE has used Gestapo like tactics. They arrest people without cause and without allowing for due process. They have grabbed people off the street and have forcibly separated families. Thats why I believe it’s an apt comparison. But the comparison only goes so far: while they use Gestapo like tactics, neither their motives or their actions are quite at the level of the Gestapo. Hopefully it never gets that far. Even more hopefully we pull out of this dreadful time we’re in.

One of the biggest issues having to deal with mental health issues is the stealing of the funds set aside for it. In NYC DeBlasio set aside one billion dollars to address the homeless mentally ill problem in the city. He appointed his zero experience wife to head it. When asked about progress when there was seemingly none, she said she’s concentrating on the root causes and stigmatization.
