Zima was brought up in a thread. Ever have a chick drink that you liked?

Recommended Posts

The evolution of drinks geared toward women had really taken off over the years. Ever taste one that you thought you wanted to have a second one?

Wine has always been white zinfandel and soon after Santa Margherita pinot grigio that the women would want and still do. And of course cosmopolitans for mixed drinks.

Going back to mass marketed bottled coolers in the US I saw that it started in California with the California Cooler. I guess that was in 1976 from what I read.

Zima was mentioned in another thread. Girl's beer. I think it was 1993 time frame.

But I think until the Jack Daniels coolers and especially the Mike's Hard Lemonade could I actually stomach more than one. Actually, the Lynchburg lemonade is a great drink in my opinion. Just way too much sugar. Headaches waiting to happen.

One of the major liquor stores in my area has a whole massive aisle full of all that shlt. Actually, all of the major liquor stores have them in mass.

I like Citrusy pale ales and IPAs, goes wel with the bitter hops. I don’t really think that’s girlie but according to the GC it’s step away from swallowing a load.

Oh yeah. I forgot about the selzters.

These drinks come out and then get mass copied.

I remember seeing empty zima bottles as a kid on the gutted railroad tracks we used to frequent.  I think ive had one or 2 when I got a little older.   Sorta the pioneer of this stuff.

If its free and its summer ill drink a white claw or whatever.  Dont really like them.  I suppose they serve a purpose.   Ive never bought any of these seltzer things.

I had a couple grapefruit IPAs Saturday. And I IPA'd myself out some years back while going to a bunch of breweries. Love grapefruit though.

I dont mind an IPA after summer.  There are a couple local ones I like most.   As to what variation of IPA, IDK.   But I do like them under cirtain circumstances.

I like all beer to extent.  If im drinking drinking for a period of time (golf, cookout, lawn work) its ML all day.   I dont mind a kerws either.   I like blue regular once it gets colder.  I dont mind an octoberfest type beer after summer.  To reiterate I like almost all beer to a degree.

The sours?  Man or woman, not sure how anyone can like those.

I mostly drink Corona Lite but I’ll mix in a hoppy pale ale or 2 sometimes. Love Hefeweizen too but rarely have it. And a Guinness maybe 3-4 times a year.

Sours are gross.

Male/female drinks is ambiguous and subjective. As I used to be an f&b purchaser, I used to try many beverages.

i do not like the seltzers

some pre-made cocktails are ok: margaritas, mules, mai tais, mojitos, etc

i like many more wines than I don’t.

in the summer and on tropical vacations I like many rum drinks.

i like most types of bier. Do not love ipas nor pils (but if you line several up, I’ll probably like 25%)

in high school I drank and made wine coolers in addition to beer and many shots of whatever.

while like most alcohol, I do not drink much these days… need to drive for work and do not want to deal with duis

I think so. I guess though it's bad if you take certain medications. I don't know where the grape part of it came from though.

The name "grapefruit" comes from the grape-like clusters in which the fruit grows on trees picture not from its taste or appearance as a single fruit. Jamaicans are credited with coining the term "grapefruit" in the 19th century to describe this characteristic growth pattern, which resembles that of grapes.

The English word "grape" likely comes from the Old French word "graper," meaning "to hook" or "to pick with a hook," which itself derives from a Germanic root referring to a hook or crooked shape. The word "grape" entered the English language around the 13th century, replacing the Old English term "winberige" ("wine berry"), reflecting the use of hook-like tools for harvesting the fruit after the Norman conquest of 1066.

Looks more like an orangefruit than a grape.

Yes, but seems like the name is based on the fact they grow in clusters like grapes grow in clusters, not the color. I'm not impressed with naming origins after looking these up.

Yeah. The naming seems lazy. It should be called acidfruit. Or sourfruit. That's lazy too but it's more accurate.

Well, Gutterboy said there are no fruity IPA’s.

I don't think he's ever eaten fruit in his life.

Are Martini's considered a girly drink?

:nono:

In fact, women who drink them are pretty much perceived to be working at trying to hang with the men.

Oh yeah. Those are considered martinis. All I hear when I hear martini is gin or vodka straight with olives or twist and vermouth.

Who cares? Some good gin, dry vermouth, and a couple toothpicks full of garlic and jalapeno stuffed olives make you immune to name calling and shame. So good.

Never worry about the opinions of people who only drink light beer.

Worrying about whether the booze you drink is effeminate is beta behavior.

Martinis are awesome.  No on the garlic and jalapeno olives tho.  Either pimento stuffed or almond.

My local casino charges $7 for a two hearted.  Not bad, especially for casino prices.  Then some guy orders a high noon and it was $10!!!  $10 for a damn high noon?  WTF

Oh man, you're missing out. The garlic and jalapeño counter the gin really nicely.

I've never had an almond stuffed olive. Sounds tasty.
