How much are your health insurance costs rising?

Recommended Posts

Open enrollment starts today for my employer based health insurance.  Going up 35% from last year.  Thanks Trump.

My work said that they are going to use the SNAP money to offset the costs.

Private insurance companies certainly aren’t going to be left holding the bag. They have board members to pay tens of millions, stadiums to buy the naming rights of, and multi million dollar a month ad campaigns to cover!

Ours enrollment starts Wed....no changes to the costs for the HSA plan, deductible hasn't changes for ~5 years.  I heard the PPO plan has increased the deductible and per-paycheck costs, but not sure how much YoY.

You can thank Obummer.  Too bad he didn't address costs as he should have in his "AFFORDABLE CARE ACT."   If he had we would be much better off now.

You want me to blame a guy who hasn't been president in 9 years for cost increases now?

Absolutely.  The ACA was sold as addressing costs, which everyone with a brain knew was crap at the time since he allowed the very people it was supposed to reign in to write the bill, and years later he admitted the purpose of the bill was to address ACCESS, not cost.  So yeah, you don't get to complain about the cost when the guy you supported not only didn't address it when he could but made it worse.

  • Thanks 2

Yeah, there’s plenty of room to complain about the rising cost of health insurance under trump government.  Shame.

Trump has had one full term and is in his second, so what is his plan to fix it?

I'm sure we can all rest easy that he has concepts of a plan.

Well first of all I didn't even vote for Obama.  Regardless your premise is nonsense.  Trump is president, Republicans control the govt, costs are going up due to their policies.  I'm blaming them.

i genuinely hope those that are dead set on blaming someone, feel better by doing so.   Seems that is critically important.

Also, if those blame Trump, I really hope they won't vote for him!

Ok, you can do that.  But Obama is the one who was supposed to address the issue, and he didn't.  He jacked up the prices and destroyed the individual health care market.  I would certainly welcome someone doing something about it, but they'd just be cleaning up Obummer's mess.  Blaming them for the mess itself is dumb.

ObamaCare was supposed to allow us to keep our coverage if we liked our coverage.

Instead, I got my coverage pulled by my employer because it violated obamacare and I had to get a worse plan that cost more money.  I cried about it for a long time and gutter told me to get over it at the time.

Well I guess it's his turn to get over it.

I doubt this played any role in premiums going up...............

In 2025, approximately 70% of American adults were classified as either overweight or obese.

Or this...............

As of 2025, the obesity rate for American children is around 19.3% to 20%, affecting about 1 in 5 children and adolescents. This figure represents a significant increase over the past few decades and highlights a major public health challenge.

The 70% quoted for adults seems too high. If I had to guess, I'd say 35-40%

The 20% quote for children sounds about right.

If Harris had won, the liberals posting on this thread would have posted something similar to this.

That's politics for ya.

Of course not. But it's not like this year is unprecedented. This crap has been happening with healthcare insurance, homeowners insurance, auto insurance, etc. for most of the century.
