What’s your go to pizza?

Recommended Posts

1. Brand or Chain

2. Crust preference

3. Toppings

4. (Bonus) does your area have something unique about their pizzas? Size, odd toppings, etc.?

5. (Bonus thought) I don’t like pineapple pizzas because I would eat pineapple just regularly, but my favorite pizza which is a sausage pepperoni. I wouldn’t just eat sausage by itself nor probably pepperoni. So I don’t do pizzas with toppings I would eat regularly as food.

1. One of several local mom and pop chains.

2. NY style / thin crust

3. Depends. Pepperoni is a classic. Also like sausage green peppers and onions.

4. One of my favorite locals is a place called Santucci’s. They do a rectangular pizza, slightly thicker crust than NY style but not Sicilian, with cheese beneath the sauce. It’s awesome.

5. Never had a pineapple pizza, and never will.

1. Very good local options in NJ.  NYC - Bleecker St pizza or scars.  New Haven - Modern

2. Thin, cracker like

3. Usually plain but pepperoni always hits

4. We have something called tomato pie around here or Trenton style.  It's cheese on dough, sauce on top, very good.

5. Several joints around here do toppings like chicken parm, penne vodka, buffalo chicken, cheese steak.  It's good but not really pizza IMO.

Local.

Thin, well toasted.

Arugala, prosciutto, basil for me.

Nola is a food town, quality is high but it’s not red sauce traditional pizza like you’ll find in NY, Boston, PRI, Chi. - However locally andouille & crawfish is something one might find here.

Eh I’ll try anything if I’m eating with others, even stuff I wouldn’t normally get.

Down here in Fla the pizza is all chains and sucks like the Chinese food. Up in MA  we had great neighborhood places and one town over had Frank Pepe’s and Sally’s Apizza New Haven style.I like almost any topping but usually go for sausage, bonus if it’s a hot sausage

Local shop.

Pepperoni, Ham, mushrooms, green pepper and onions is my favorite.

I like Sausage and bacon but they dominate the pies flavor so the meat lovers is a bit too much.  I like a veggie pie too, but it is just lacking a little.

we had a place in San Francisco call front room. They made a “Chinese” pizza with char siu and green onions

There are so many good pizza places around here that it's impossible to choose one.

Tavern style is number 1, but I'm down with a proper deep dish, Detroit style, or pan.

Sausage and pepperoni 99% of the time

My area specializes in the flavor of sausage. Every local joint has their own, and they mostly all have their own unique flavor even if the difference is slight. There aren't many other places you can get sausage pizza near as good as here.

I don't understand Supreme. Every time I get that many ingredients, it seems like all the flavors cancel each other out almost. I can't pick anything specific out and it ends up tasting more bland than if I just got sausage.

Sometimes it’s fun to go to the very end of a thread and scroll back up just to see how a pizza thread got here…🤣🤣

Too sweet. I’ll eat it of course but one piece is enough.

Honestly not a huge pizza guy. Never my first thought unless it’s 2am and I’m hammered and even then i’m going tacos or a burger if given the  option.

Just listened to a podcast and they were eating the 4 “best” pizzas of New Haven. I recognize those two names, they did Modern Pizza and one other one I don’t remember.

Beef Pizza from Casey's gas station. It's really good. Booming business.

My favorite true Italian Pizza place closed due to the founders old age. Have to find a new place.

Sausage, Beef, Canadian Bacon, Pepperoni. *regular crust*

The uniqueness is they're one of the last mom & pop pizza shops in town.

Don't like pineapple on pizza, or any other way.

I saw a YT video on gas station pizza , Casey’s, Hunt Brothers etc. Living in MA I wouldn’t be able to wrap my head around it but now in Florida I wish we had a Casey’s

I know the owners of the local franchise, but yeah it's about the only pizza I really prefer not to eat.

I think there is such a wide range of pizza just to name a favorite.   Locally, id go Il Lazerone with the Italian wood fired oven.   The Blanco sauce with balsamic glaze is awesome. My kids also work for a local pizza joint and it's fine.  KC it's Minsky's, and just about all their pies are great but when they come out with seasonal crab rangoon with cream cheese and crispy wontons...yeah that's the sh1t.
