BLS 313 Posted April 28, 2016 I was hoping you're failsafe math would at least add up to the proper amount. Now I am no more excited than I was before. Praying the Donald locks this up without that insipid convention thing. Again, for the bored idiots, it's implied he can fill in the rest. It's pretty obvious (to those who can think) that he's going to secure the nomination before the convention.
FeelingMN 273 Posted April 28, 2016 You forgot middle-class, employed, white men who are sick of the BS. There's a reason Trump is breaking GWB's record voter turnout during the primaries. They are coming out in full force. Think I heard on one of the Sunday morning talk shows that Trump would need two thirds of the white male vote to win in November. Compare that to Romney who received ~55% of the votes from that demographic in 2012. On the flip side, people probably won't show up for Clinton like they did for Obama, so maybe he won't actually need such a high percentage of white dudes. Still, his shot at the Presidency resides totally in the hands of white guys. Bet we hear a little more about the KKK this summer.

I don't follow the polls, so I don't know how Hillary is doing with certain demos, but I gotta think she would pull a ton of women voters outta the woodwork. No? BLS 313 Posted April 28, 2016 Women don't like her, she is universally hated. She'll get SOME of the woman vote, obviously. The trick here is that nobody's really excited about either, but fervent Trump supporters probably outweigh Hillary supporters. The voter turnout will likely be smaller than with Obama. But then again..who knows really? Trump could blow the whole thing. Clinton doesn't look healthy...at all. Trump has already moved on past the GOP nomination and is already starting to focus on Clinton. Either way, it'll be interesting to watch.
vuduchile 1,941 Posted April 28, 2016 Women don't like her, she is universally hated. I still think chicks will fall in line when it comes down to it. Millions voted for Obama simply because he had a shot to be the first black POTUS. Hillary has a real shot to be the first woman POTUS, and I'm sure the dems and fems will play it up as another historic moment for our country. Screen shots of Oprah crying at the convention, Gloria Steinem waving a US flag, Ronda Rousey kicking a Trump lookalike in the teeth.......and so on.

I think the difference with Obama was he was relatively unknown nationally. I think what most people think is that we are able to have a woman president, just not her. It helps that trump has gone out of his way to alienate women as a voting bloc. Even many conservative women do not like him - not that they like hillary either but at least they know she doesn't hate women

gocolts 300 Posted April 28, 2016 Could have been worse. Could have been Jeb! vs Hillary. Trump vs. Hillary is an easy choice for me: Trump But I still don't think it's over. Team #NeverTrump reversed the polls in Wisonsin to beat Trump easily and can pull off wins in Indiana and Cali. Indiana is a Midwestern state more suitable to Cruz than Wisconsin was. How cool is that, Indiana might make a big difference in this primary. If we go Trump, he will likely get the coveted 1237. If we go with Cruz, this thing could go to the convention. Hope everyone is comfortable with ol gocolts helping decide this shtt.

KSB2424 3,083 Posted April 29, 2016 http://www.politico.com/story/2016/04/hillary-clinton-donald-trump-november-insiders-222598 In the swing states that matter most in the presidential race, Donald Trump doesn’t have a prayer against Hillary Clinton in the general election. “Trump cannot and will not carry Ohio,” a Republican from that state insisted. “He will do well in Appalachia and in the Mahoning Valley but he will get killed in the rest of the state. The danger for the GOP is losing Rob Portman which is a very real possibility under this match-up.” Added a Florida Republican, who like all participants was granted anonymity in order to speak freely, “Trump is grinding the GOP to a stub. He couldn't find enough xenophobic, angry white Floridians to beat Hillary in Florida if he tried.” Looking ahead to the general election, Republican insiders fretted that if Trump is at the top of the ticket, he will not only lose in a landslide, but will also endanger Republicans on the rest of the ballot. “NH is potentially a swing state but Hillary would win in a rout with profound down ballot consequences,” wrote one New Hampshire Republican. Said a Virginia Republican, “Virginia has shifted to be more suburban than rural. While a Trump candidacy will gin up turnout in the Shenandoah Valley and Southwest, Trump will get killed in the suburbs of the urban crescent. Time to focus on Congressional races and 2017.” Several Democrats said Trump would so motivate Democratic turnout that they envisioned clear-cut pick-up opportunities across the ballot. “In a Trump/Clinton matchup, Hillary will win Florida by no less than 5 points and will help the Democrats pick up a Senate seat, a couple of House districts, and a significant number of state legislative seats,” said one Florida Democrat. Added a North Carolina Democrat, “Hillary Clinton will put North Carolina back in the blue column. She will also have long coattails in North Carolina, helping Roy Cooper take back the Governor's Mansion and in quite possibly the biggest upset this cycle, help Deborah Ross defeat Senator Richard Burr.” :sadbanana:

The math doesn't add up for a Trump win in November. The polls don't add up. Common sense doesn't add up. We can cover our ears and close our eyes and pray the GOP falling for this Trump mania will actually be a good thing, but the reality is this is worst case scenario for true Republicans, and Compassionate Conservatives. 2016 is going to be a bloodshed in favor of Democrats and Liberals across the country. The GOP cut off its own nose to spite it's face.
