Apparently Nike is taking over for Reebok in 2012. They have leaked some Uniform designs in progress. The Patriots one is pretty cool but I hope they stick with the traditional ones for most games.

MINNEAPOLIS - A few unofficial, concept designs for new NFL Nike Pro Combat uniforms have been leaked online.

 

While some are more modest tweaks, like the Colts, Falcons, Lions, Raiders, Rams, Saints Seahawks and Titans, others have some drastic and daring design changes – like the Mardi Gras-esque Minnesota Vikings.

 

Other teams with more drastic changes include the stars and stripes of the New England Patriots, the animals print piping of the Jacksonville Jaguars and a winged-uniform designs for the Arizona Cardinals.

 

Some teams pay homage to throwback designs, with a revived logo on the Denver Broncos helmets, and the return of the buccaneer to the Tampa Bay Bucs helmets.

 

Possibly the most controversial is the Washington Redskins, who have long faced racial tension over its name and logo. The Redskins uniform concept features faded feathers and symbols on their yellow jerseys.

 

In October, the NFL announced Nike would take over for Reebok as the league's official uniform provider in April 2012. In an interview with CNBC sports business reporter Darren Rovell, Nike Brand President Charlie Denson said plans were in the works to "dramatically" change NFL team jerseys. <BR itxtvisited="1">

I'm not sure if teams will wear these for one game or what. Nike has a few colleges signed up who will wear a nike pro combat jerseys for one game this year. But those designs were not as radical as these NFL concept designs.

So PFT has received a bunch of emails over the last couple of days from readers sending us pictures of supposed “concept sketches” of future NFL uniforms by Nike that leaked to the web. The shoe company takes over as the league’s official supplier in 2012.

 

Darren Rovell of CNBC has confirmed the pictures are fakes, apparently made to trick fans and send them into a frenzy. It basically worked.

 

I have to give credit here to Florio for quickly smelling a rat. He didn’t want to post about them because he never bought they were real, even after the Ravens’ official blog wrote an article breaking them down. (You can see all 32 fakes there.) Bill Belichick was even asked about the supposed Patriots uniform on Friday.

 

“Is it Halloween?” Belichick said via Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald. “Wasn’t that last month?”

 

More like April Fool’s Day, which should especially be a relief to Patriots and Steelers fans. Man, those unis are ugly.

Actually, the Pats uniforms aren't that bad, per se. What ruins it is the sh!tbag flying Elvis logo. Take the logo off the sleeves, and the jersey isn't so bad. Go back to the Pat Patriot logo on the helmet, and you got a pretty decent looking football team.

I think Nike is putting that out there after the initial negative reaction. I think Nike actually did leak these to see what the public would think of them. Click on the Eagles link and look at each part of the jersey that even has detail showing the texture of the different parts of the jersey. The pictures also have perfect proportions/anatomy used. I find it almost impossible that a fan would go to this much effort to perfect a design for every team with no potential for a financial reward from it.
