4 pointsUpdate... not great. I had my first scans in 6 months a few weeks ago, and for the first time in 3.5 years, there is a new nodule in my lung. Well, apparently not new, as there is evidence of it in my prior August and April scans, but it was too small to register. It's still small, 6 mm, so too small to biopsy or to see on a PET scan (needs to be 10 mm to reliably see). Given my history, and because there is just the one nodule, we've decided to have it surgically removed. Benefits of this is that it will definitely be removed (with chemo, immuno, and/or radiation, you never really know), and they will biopsy it while I'm still out on the table, so we'll know if it is cancer. It's less clear to me if they can conclude it is from my past metastasis, or if it might be some unrelated, less-threatening thing like an adenocarcinoma. Surgery is on Tuesday, 4/8. Because it requires collapsing my lung temporarily, they want to keep me overnight. Ending on a positive note, there are a few things in my favor. One, it is reassuring to have a plan. Two, in addition to the above adenocarcinoma, it could be benign. For instance, I occasionally aspirate (fancy for leak) food and drink from my esophagus into my trachea (and thus my lungs). If a particulate settled somewhere, my body might build a nodule around it. Given it's growth over the past year, unlikely, but maybe. Three, it's in my right lung, whereas my past tumors (lung and throat) were all on my left side. The lungs are interconnected via the trachea so the doc doesn't put much credibility in it, but the engineer in me finds it odd that there would be a single dormant nodule on the other side. Four, speaking of dormant, my original cancer (squamous cell carcinoma) is typically like a yip yip dog -- supposedly it either grows like a week and kills ya quick, or you kill it first. It's not like some breast cancers that lie dormant for a decade or more. Relatedly, it grew very fast the first time around, whereas this growth has been much slower. Five, I've never smoked and I exercise regularly, so my lungs are as awesome as 57 yr old lungs can be. The surgery is Masters week, so for my EdEx buddies, I'll probably have to come up with a plan to finish the draft (hopefully we can make my part of the 3-4 turn on Monday). I also have not only approval but insistence from my wife that I sit on my ass recovering and watch the tourney all weekend. Anyway, that's it for now, I'll update things after the surgery.

3 pointsAll I've learned from this thread is that Maximum Overkill supports pedophiles as long as they are MAGA devotees. Sickening

3 pointsI use to also find stories of rape and murder were helpful lighten the mood... but that only ever occurred when phillybear wrote them. He had a unique talent. I worry that this Natalie Wood one just doesn't produce the effect you're going for.

3 pointsThere's the tranny in women's spaces stuff, the drag queen with kids stuff, defund the police, sympathy for terrorists and illegal alien sex traffickers and drug smugglers, the flag kneeling, the Antifa riots, the race baiting, unsecure borders, the no ID voting, the Howard Zinn / 1619 rewriting of US history to focus on the bad and worst aspects of US history. Seeing Thomas Jefferson statues hit the ground was infuriating. This isn't an argument about tax and spend policy or energy vs climate change policy anymore. I don't rightly know how anybody with any sense of decency is a Democrat on 2025 and I don't want to live in a community that is governed by them.

3 pointsthe judge doesn't understand multiple things you can't serve if you are required to be on daily medication getting tranny surgery is an elective procedure, and should not be paid for by being in the military and lastly serving in the military is NOT A RIGHT

2 pointsI'd put Trump over Lincoln. Trump proved that he could take a bullet. Lincoln freed the slaves (yeah right) and Trump freed the American people.

2 pointsThe SCOTUS justices I support stick closely to the Constitution, the SCOTUS justices you support make up their minds with little regard for the document. Also which side wants to shred the Electoral college and which side wants to expand/pack the courts, and which side wants the judiciary to overrule both the legislative and executive branch?

2 pointsThe CIA got rid of the real stuff long ago, or never put it on paper to begin with. Just like with MK Ultra.

2 pointsBob down at traffic court is actually Chief Judge of Federal District Court in D.C. Courthouses are EXACTLY where overreaching politicians are superceded. Did you pass 6th grade?

1 pointhttps://www.cnn.com/2025/02/20/investing/us-stocks-walmart-outlook/index.html Get ready for hard times ahead. Some of us tried to warn you that these tariffs were going to cause a lot of pain and ugliness. And it’s only just beginning…

1 pointits not discrimination you are NOT qualified to serve

1 pointAs to your first point I don’t believe you. I’m betting there are plenty of military people who take daily medication for all sorts of things. Your second point is irrelevant. Not an issue of discussion. Your third point may be correct (I don’t know) but it doesn’t mean the government has the right to discriminate.

1 pointI posted multiple links. Feel free to click on one to educate yourself, but you won't because ignorance is bliss, and MAGAs love their ignorant bliss. They don't want to know facts that make them feel all ooogie inside.

1 pointNo. I support the boycott. Not any acts of violence.

1 pointSince thus far Trump has also complied with even the most ridiculous court overreach orders from activist judges, I'll roll with Joe Biden whose complete unwillingness to enforce US immigration law got his Homeland Security Secretary impeached. Also, just because a retarded partisan activist judge says Trump is breaking the law, doesn't mean he's breaking the law. What Trump is doing is popular, it's what he said he was going to do, and what he was elected to do.

1 pointI sold a lot of football cards on eBay in 2020. Shipping was already expensive versus the last time I've sold about five years earlier & I expect it's far higher now. EBay and PayPal fees have also went up a lot & buyers also have to pay sales tax at the time of purchase if they live in a state that has one. You can sell up to $2500 worth of items on eBay for 2025 before a 1099 materializes. Next year that amount drops to $600 One more thing about eBay that may interest you. They always side with the buyer when any type of problem arises. If you want to see what vinyl has been selling for on eBay recently, you can choose completed listings. Here's an example for bachman-turner overdrive not fragile https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=bachman+turner+overdrive+not+fragile+vinyl&_sacat=0&_from=R40&rt=nc&LH_Complete=1
