Patriotsfatboy1 1,433 Posted May 7, 2009 Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Dumb fock. I sure hope that the Dodgers are able to reduce his contract because of this (not very likely).
NewbieJr 541 Posted May 7, 2009 Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Dumb fock. I sure hope that the Dodgers are able to reduce his contract because of this (not very likely). They obviously don't haver to pay him for the 50, right? That alone will save them a bunch of cash. It's one thing to be busted for juicing when it was prevalent, but to get caught when you know there's testing... Easily baseball's dumbest player.

Middawg 0 Posted May 7, 2009 Pooh Holes - Dirty as hell Griffey - Clean and by far the best legit player of the Roided Up Era
KSB2424 3,173 Posted May 7, 2009 if jr ISNT clean..he got a bad batch...because he spent his career hurt... A huge reason why players take roids is to comeback from injury faster. Griffey would have had plenty of reasons to use just for this purpose and especially considering how rampant it was. I don't know if he did or not, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least. edjr 6,898 Posted May 7, 2009 2004 sox = tainted I just said that to a guy that is a red sox fan and he said baseball should put an * next to Bonds, Sosa, Clemens, Manny etc. I said.. the Red Sox 2004 and 2007 world series titles are now tainted and you know what he said "no sir, because everyone was doing steroids" Your favorite team has a player that was roiding, but thats ok cause everyone was doing it, but we should put a * next to Bonds because why? oh right, because everyone was doing it. Typical moronic baseball fan.

MedStudent 56 Posted May 7, 2009 Manny surprised the hell out of me because he pretty much always had the same body type and he never had a big upsurge in power numbers. He has always been consistently good since he came into the league. This makes me suspicious of everyone. I think you have to look suspiciously at any dominicans with power. And guys like Griffey and Thomas. They seem clean but i don't think you can trust anything anymore. As for championships during the steroid era...they are all tainted as well. I don't think any teams won a clean championship. They are still not testing for hgh and I still do not trust some current players..sorry hanley ramirez and albert puhols..you are under suspicion just by where you were born. I'm sad for baseball that he still has not put this behind them. I do applaud MLB for suspending Manny. It might have been better for their image to try and hide this. Suspending him the rest of the year would have sent a stronger message though. Looks like that Red Sox trade was a smart move afterall.
GettnHuge 2 Posted May 7, 2009 They just said he tested positive for HCG, a chick fertility drug. I think that's referred to also as Clomid. It's something juicers use when coming off a steroid cycle

IGotWorms 4,063 Posted May 7, 2009 Yeah, I was actually pretty surprised to learn this about Manny as well. I'm not sure why because I've figured most power hitters were juiced up for at least the past 15 years. ETA: This story from last year makes a little more sense now... Manny Ramirez shoved Red Sox traveling secretary Jack McCormick to the ground in an argument over Ramirez' ticket allotment. Several onlookers moved quickly to separate the two. Ramirez had asked McCormick for 16 tickets for Saturday night's Red Sox-Astros game, an unusually high number for day-of-game. In addition to handling all travel details for clubs, traveling secretaries also take player ticket requests for both home and away games. When McCormick cautioned Ramirez that he might not be able to fulfill his request, Ramirez responded by shouting: "Just do your job!" An argument ensued and Ramirez pushed McCormick, sending him to the ground. 'Roid rage!!!
kilroy69 1,268 Posted May 7, 2009 Ill say it again. Josh Hamilton is the only player in MLB that I am 100% convinced is not on roids.

BMoney 0 Posted May 7, 2009 Running into a wall and breaking your ankle and or wrist... how exactly could roids have helped that? i was thinking that as i typed it..and as pointed out..its used for receovery and no one needed to recover more than jr.... he probably did them also... time to put fred mcgriff into the hall
Me_2006 14 Posted May 7, 2009 seriously, at this point, who cares? Apparently no one worth a damn is clean, and you know picthers are juicing as much as hitters. It balances out. We look at everyone as tainted anyway, so this doesn't change anything. except Junior. But he's the GOAT.

NewbieJr 541 Posted May 7, 2009 They just said he tested positive for HCG, a chick fertility drug. I think that's referred to also as Clomid. It's something juicers use when coming off a steroid cycle HCG and Clomid are different. HCG is derived from pregnant women's urine. In males, it prompts the leydig cells in your testes to produce more testosterone. You're correct, it is often used by juicers coming off of a cycle to get their shutdown nuts to start producing again, but even while on steroids bodybuilders take it to keep their testes producing and add to their testosterone levels. HCG monotherapy, which it sounds like manny was on, is just taking these subQ injections to up teh amount your testes produce.

Do you use roids? Oh doc, of course not. Well here, take this stuff to get them back to normal!
