Now, however, two players with no apparent direct connection to the scandal are taking their shots at Tiger. Ben Crane, an eight-year pro with two wins on the PGA Tour, and Charles Warren, a six-year veteran of the PGA Tour, each sharply criticized Woods, on the record, in the current issue of Life & Style magazine. Warren also had a bit of advice for Elin, with uncompromising words for Woods. "She was very young when Jesper introduced them," Warren said. "She had stars in her eyes and maybe dollar signs too. But no, she should not stay with him. What kind of message would that send to her sister and mother and all the women out there? That your husband can be a bastard but as long as he makes the deal worthwhile, you'll stay?"

 

Today's PGA pros owe at least a quarter of everything they've earned to Tiger, who raised the game's prominence and, in turn, their paychecks. But Crane's comments indicate that Tiger's alleged proclivities were an open secret among Tour players.

British court grants injunction to prohibit publication of any nude photos of golfer

 

London, England (CNN) -- A British court has granted Tiger Woods an injunction prohibiting the publication of any nude pictures of him -- not that the golfer is acknowledging that such photos exist.

 

The High Court in London issued the injunction Thursday afternoon, said the Schillings law firm, which is representing Woods.

 

"For the avoidance of doubt, this order is not to be taken as an admission that any such photographs exist, and in the event that these photographs do exist, and it is not admitted, any such images may have been fabricated, altered, manipulated and or changed to create the false appearance and impression that they are nude photographs of our client," Schillings said in a letter sent to legal departments of British publications.

 

"Our client is not aware of any images and in any event he would not have consented to any such photographs being taken, nor would he have consented to the dissemination or exploitation of the same."

 

The court document says anyone who violates the order may be held in contempt of court and may be fined, imprisoned or have assets seized.

 

The 33-year-old golfer, who tops the sport's world rankings, has been mired in controversy since he crashed his car outside his Florida mansion last month. The crash prompted authorities to cite him for careless driving and fine him $164.

 

Woods was not required to talk to police about the wreck and declined to speak with investigators on several occasions.

 

In the week after the crash, Woods apologized for "transgressions" that let his family down. On the same day, gossip magazine US Weekly published a report alleging that Woods had an affair with a 24-year-old cocktail waitress named Jaimee Grubbs.

 

"I have let my family down, and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves," he said in a December 3 statement on his official Web site.

I am deeply aware of the disappointment and hurt that my infidelity has caused to so many people, most of all my wife and children. I want to say again to everyone that I am profoundly sorry and that I ask forgiveness. It may not be possible to repair the damage I've done, but I want to do my best to try.

 

I would like to ask everyone, including my fans, the good people at my foundation, business partners, the PGA Tour, and my fellow competitors, for their understanding. What's most important now is that my family has the time, privacy, and safe haven we will need for personal healing.

 

After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf. I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father, and person.

 

Again, I ask for privacy for my family and I am especially grateful for all those who have offered compassion and concern during this difficult period.

Global consulting and outsourcing firm Accenture is ending its sponsorship of Tiger Woods, saying the golfer is "no longer the right representative" after the "circumstances of the last two weeks."

The company is the second key sponsor of Woods to pull away. Gillette said Saturday that it won't feature Woods in its ads for an unspecified period of time.

 

Woods is taking an indefinite leave from golf to work on his marriage after allegations that Woods had trysts with multiple women.
