She’s got a legion of male fans but from now on they will be seeing a lot less of teenage tennis star Simona Halep.

 

Simona, 18, has yet to translate success as a junior into Grand Slam glory and felt her chest was, er, getting in the way.

 

So she ignored a fans’ petition pleading with her to forget about breast reduction and went ahead with the op.

 

Now the 18-year-old Romanian’s chest is down from 34DD to a more modest 34C cup size.

 

Simona, who won the junior French Open in 2008 and is now ranked 114 in the world, said she has never liked her breasts.

 

She added: “The weight troubles me and my ability to react quickly. My breasts make me uncomfortable when I play.

 

“I don’t like them anyway. I’d have gone for surgery even if I hadn’t been a sportswoman.”

 

But Simona struggled at the French Open in at Roland Garros in Paris this week, crashing out to Aussie Samantha Stosur in the first round of the season’s second Grand Slam event.

 

It just goes to show that size doesn’t matter..
