IGotWorms 4,060 Posted January 17, 2011 I think NE needed Moss after all. Finally a coach learned how to beat the dink and dunk of the Pats. 7 yard completions down the field all game long had to finally stop. Congrats to the Jets for backing up their mouths on this one. A victory I truly enjoyed watching. I am really looking forward to NYJ vs PIT. It's going to be awesome. I just hope the Jets didn't blow their wad winning at Indy and NE. That has to take a toll eventually. We shall see though. I bet the Steeler's are salivating though. I do give credit to the Jets. They had an excellent game plan and executed it well. The Pats are just front-runners. They either have you by the balls (in which case they whoop the crap out of you) or they lose. They can't adjust to stuff anymore. It's bizarre because they used to be the best at adjusting way back in their Superbowl years. That's 6+ years ago at this point though. Times have changed. Congrats NYJ, you played a great game. May the Steelers beat the FOCK out of your next week.
edjr 6,734 Posted January 17, 2011 I think NE needed Moss after all. Had nothing to do with it. Tate was open on the only long pass they tried, brady missed him. Just like the Super Bowl against the Giants, the offensive line played offensive and couldn't keep Brady on his feet.

Just like the Super Bowl against the Giants, the offensive line played offensive and couldn't keep Brady on his feet. I disagree, Moss would've required double coverage from time to time, therefore, the dink and dunk routes would've have been open to the 3rd and 4th reads. Non the less, Brady looked like a total puss, and was ready to crumble to the ground anytime a Jets D-lineman was around. I think he even took a couple of sacks from just from the wind of Ellis rushing around him. Big Ben in the pocket is looking to shed those tackles. Brady was scared to death it seemed like. Exactly. I still love Brady for the QB he was from 2001 to about 2006, but he isn't that guy anymore. Money, fame, the knee injury...it's all changed him. surferskin 30 Posted January 17, 2011 Awful. AWFUL. All around awful. Awful coaching, HORRIBLE game by Tom Brady, SH!TTY hands by the pass-catchers, hell even Woodhead played like crap!!!! Only decent part of the game was the defense. Isn't that ironic since everyone (myself included) considered the D the achilles heel of this team??! AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL. Tom Brady, you are officially garbage. Cut your focking hair, quit endorsing Uggs, and focus on the damn game! MAAAAAAAAAAYBE then you can crawl your way back into the good graces of Patriots fans, but I wouldn't focking count on it!!!
msudavedawg 5 Posted January 17, 2011 Hahahahahahahahaha!!! The Colts can't win any more this season but the Pats losing is the next best thing!!!

MDC 7,652 Posted January 17, 2011 The Pats offensive line didn't have a great game but on at least 3-4 of the sacks Brady had all day in the pocket and there was no place to go with the ball. The Jets secondary was just brilliant. Not that Terrific Tom played well, he missed some easy throws, but he got very little help from his terrible receivers. Way too many drops. The big culprit in this game though was the horrible coaching job but Belid1ck, first by setting up the Jets second TD with that moronic fake punt and then by going for it on 4th and 13 instead of taking the FG. Reminded me of the way he lost the Super Bowl a few years ago with the same move. Belid1ck is one of the best coaches in football but he's also arrogant and the Pats paid for it today. Great game. Sexy Rexy really stuck it to the Pats today.
Gepetto 1,417 Posted January 17, 2011 52 yard field goal with wind slightly against is out of Shayne Graham's field goal range so going for it on 4th and 13 was really the only option.
MDC 7,652 Posted January 17, 2011 52 yard field goal with wind slightly against is out of Shayne Graham's field goal range so going for it on 4th and 13 was really the only option. Graham has nine FGs of 50+ yards in his career including two last year. The odds of converting a 4th and 13 are far smaller than hitting a 52 yarder, and even if the Pats picked up that first down they'd still need to score. As it stands they turned the ball over on downs anyway, only they didn't even take a shot for points down by two scores with 5:15 left. That was the conclusion of a drive that took 7 minutes off the clock because Belid1ck thought it was a good time to re-establish the running game. The worst offense though was faking a punt from your own 38 on 4th and 4 with about a minute left in the half down only 7-3 at that point. WTF was Belid1ck thinking? I used to think he was the best coach in the game but he was totally outcoached by Rex Ryan in every way today. I've got to hand it to the Jets, they talked sh1t all week and backed every word up today.

I guess a player that got cut (crable maybe) might be the link. Look for a huge fine.

The one and only interception he threw was his first since Week 6... True enough. But Tom Brady used to be Mr. Clutch. I remember that first Superbowl against the Rams, when John Madden opined that the Pats should just take a knee and go to OT. But no, Tom Brady drove them down the field and put them in FG range for Adam Vinatieri. Game over, Pats won. Similar events occurred over the next three years. Since then? Yeah, Tom hasn't been clutch. Look, I love the guy for what he was, but he ain't that anymore. Sometimes you just lose it.

You are quite possibly the biggest focking ###### I've seen on here. But what else is new on here? It's expected. On a real note, this game was incredibly disgusting to me. Worse than even the Giants Superbowl because that team was falling downward. Just incredibly underprepared and outperformed when we expected a level of offense we were consistently putting up and getting better at even putting up. Jets played great, no doubt. But my love for this offense was way above anything 07 was. I liked the 2 TE sets way more. This level of suck is pretty epic, no doubt about it. It lowers my expectations big time for the future and its focking pathetic. There is just NO EXCUSE FOR THIS LEVEL OF ****. When Crumpler becomes your playmaker, you have serious problems. End of line. All there is to it.

The wind was only part of the problem. It was very cold and the ball was not carrying at all. Graham and Folk were only able to get the ball to the 10 on kickoffs with the wind. There was no way that he had enough leg to get 52/53 out of it. He would have had a hard time with 43.
p00h 85 Posted January 17, 2011 YEAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Jets played an amazing game on D. AMAZING. ANd to those blaming NE's offensive line, you obviously didn't watch the game. Most if not every single sack were coverage sacks. matter of fact, on a couple of sacks, he had like 10+ seconds, and held onto the ball too long. Pats did play a crap game, and looked pretty unprepared, which is a huge departure from the norm for a belicheck coached team, but Jets played an amazing game, both sides of the ball. The dink and dunk really was well covered. DBs played out of this world, and the LBs really came through as well in covering the 19 TEs NE likes to line up with. WOW What a win, an absolutely flagship win for our generation, and best win since the namath superbowl for sure. We going to pittsburg, we going to pittsburg!!! The Jets pressured him well yesterday and forced him out of his comfort zone. I'm not making excuses for him. But, he was never as good from 2001-2006 as Patriots fans wanted to think he was and he's not nearly as average now as you're making him out to be. Truth be told, Brady's "clutch" drives usually involved nothing more than getting the team into field goal range for Vinatieri. He had an awesome season this year, though. It's silly to see it any other way.
parrot 789 Posted January 17, 2011 Wow, step away from the focking ledge guys. Yeah the loss sucks, but this was a rebuilding year for the Pats. This team wasn't even picked by most to win the division as people recognized that the Jets were the more complete and experienced team. The Jets are aguably more talented at every offensive skill position other than QB and maybe TE. They have what might be the best defensive unit top to bottom in the league, definitely one of the top two or three. This Pats team played over their heads all year and it finally caught up with them, still a pretty good year none the less. The defense is very young and will only get better. They're still loaded with draft picks. If they can find a decent pass rusher or two that would really change the complexion of the D. The offense still needs to add another playmaker at WR, but there's no reason to think that cant' happen. It sucks that they lost but the cup is still pretty focking full, and they'll most likely be right back in the running next year. It's still a good time to be a Pats fan.
