Every episode is really the same. it is funny at times, but annoying too.

kutulu 1,676 Posted April 2, 2012 Anti climatic start of the season, but like you said, glad it is back. I thought it might start off the way the series did with some White Walker action.
TD Ryan2 316 Posted April 2, 2012 I was pretty happy with that episode - did anyone notice Peter Dinklage appears first in the credits? Well deserved. "you had three Starks to trade - but you chopped one's head off, and lost the another- so now you're down to one Stark... it must be difficult for you being the disappointing sibling"
Quickolas1 80 Posted April 2, 2012 I enjoyed this a lot more after having read the books (went into season 1 blind) They did a great job compacting so many early 'talking' chapters into one episode...and pushing back arya's...of which most of hers are action... if this episode was any indication, they're getting much better at putting this on-screen...and even creating a little drama at the end of the episode of which the book didn't have at that point... except for those who want instant gratification and will never be happy! http://tvrecaps.ew.com/recap/game-of-thrones-north-remembers/

"you had three Starks to trade - but you chopped one's head off, and lost the another- so now you're down to one Stark... it must be difficult for you being the disappointing sibling" In the first season he was an "AND"... Some big time actors like to be the "AND" instead of listed first...

TD Ryan2 316 Posted April 2, 2012 In the first season he was an "AND"... Some big time actors like to be the "AND" instead of listed first... yeah - maybeif everyone knows who you are... AND Michael Cain.... And Harvey Keitel... but nobody knew Dinklagbefore he killed it last year and now he's top biling- - that's a promotion and one well deserved. Also, been thinking more about the episode - I like that they "visited" pretty much every major character/storyline - they didn't make you feel like plots will be dropped or forgotten about. We visited with everybody (at breakneck speed), the stories advanced, and I can't wait to find out more next week. yeah - I'm very happy with that first episode. OldMaid 2,130 Posted April 2, 2012 Glad I read the books last year... I kept having to fill the BF in on some of the new characters 'cause he was lost. After seeing last night's show I think I can see how they will be able to get the entire story of ACOK into 10 episodes.

OldMaid 2,130 Posted April 4, 2012 April 3, 2012, 1:02 PM Season 2 Premiere of ‘Game of Thrones’ Draws High Ratings By BILL CARTER HBO’s knights and dragons fantasy series “Game of Thrones” took a big leap in the ratings Sunday night as its second season returned with the most-watched scripted show on cable television last week. The series is riding growing word of mouth and is fed by viewers catching up with the drama’s first season, as well as readers who have continued to buy, in large numbers, the novels the series is based on. The “Game of Thrones” second-season premiere averaged 3.9 million viewers for its first play on Sunday night at 9 p.m. That was up 74 percent from the audience for the premiere in the first season, 2.2 million. (In comparison, the second episode of “Mad Men” on AMC at 10 p.m. Sunday night averaged 2.9 million.) HBO, of course, is available in about one-third of the television homes in the country. HBO also announced that “Thrones” had brought in a total of 6.3 million viewers for its three plays on Sunday night, at 9, 10 and 11 p.m. The surge for “Thrones” parallels the growth pattern for what is now HBO’s most popular series, “True Blood.” That drama averaged two million viewers for its first play in its initial season and grew to 3.7 million in its second season. TD Ryan2 316 Posted April 9, 2012 S2.E2 - Still great TV, but a weak episode when compared with the best the GoT can offer. This episode was a bit of an information dump; this happened early in S1 as well and it's pretty obvious that squeezing everyting into 10 Episodes will result in a few of these info-dumps. The Episode started out great - probably because it had lots of Peter Dinklage - but quickly spiraled into a fast paced onslaught of info and storylines that the viewers will absolutely need to know in order to fully enjoy the upcoming events. mobb_deep 920 Posted April 9, 2012 I need to start watching this show. I'm generally not into this type of thing, but everyone raves about it. Think I'm going to have to grab S1 and jump on the wagon.
TD Ryan2 316 Posted April 9, 2012 Any idea what all that peep hole action was in the ho house? Got a little confused there...maybe it will make more sense on the rewatch. SHORT VERSION: it's to further establish the Peter Balesh "Littlefinger" character as a man with no boundaries and incredible cunning. LONG VERSION: it reinforces a few themes that we're constantly being reminded about: It's about Kings Landing and the gluttony/excess/amoral world the wealthy ruling class lives in ("sometimes those with the most power have the least grace") - anyone in Lord Balesh's whorehouse is weealthy and his whorehouse is a reflecion on the ruling class of King's Landing. Moreso, the scene is about Littlefinger and "sexposition" - all these things that would shock or make normal people stop/look/etc are commonplace for Peter Balesh - he continues about his business unfazed by what's around him and it is hinted at that sex is just the tip of what's he is unfazed by, it's anything life or death from peepholes to murdered babies to beheaded Starks. It also reinforces that there is no action too low for him if he can make money or gain political advantage. He is coldly and smoothly in charge, wiping the semen off one ######'s mouth a split-second before the customer sees her and is happilly embraced with a full on french kiss - it's symbolic of Lord Balish's cool control; and you can sense his mocking and laughing at the jizz-kissing Lord and all those that would have thrown him away had he not figured out how to be so manipulative- how to be the man born so low that has risen so high. We follow that up with his "chat" with the crying ###### (Ros?) - initially he seems sympathetic but the fact that he can deliver a death threat with such warmth and understanding is what makes you respect and fear him. kutulu 1,676 Posted April 10, 2012 No surprise, but it's official for season three... Winter is ... still coming. Flush off series-high ratings for the first two episodes of the second season, HBO has renewed “Game of Thrones” for a third season. “Series creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss raised our expectations for the second season – and then surpassed them,” said Michael Lombardo, HBO’s head of programming, in a statement. “We are thrilled by all the viewer and media support we’ve received for the series, and can’t wait to see what Dan and David have in store for next season.” That’s great news to fans of George R.R. Martin’s fantasy epic, “A Song of Ice and Fire,” the literary series on which “Game of Thrones” is based. When Martin finishes the saga there will be seven books, roughly corresponding to at least eight seasons, the show’s creators have said. The season-two premiere of the series, which stars Peter Dinklage, Emilia Clarke and Lena Headey, has accumulated an audience of 8.3 million viewers and will likely pass season one’s average of 9.3 million viewers, according to early data. ~nydailynews.com

kutulu 1,676 Posted April 13, 2012 I used to read the show recaps for Lost over on EW...I guess they are doing it for Game of Thrones as well...might not shed much light on it if you read the books. game-of-thrones-night-lands excerpt: I had to watch this sequence a couple times to figure out what was going on (tough way to earn a living, I know). Here it is: First we see Prostitute A happily riding Customer A. In an adjacent room, we see Prostitute B, who wears clanking impractical earrings, giving oral pleasure to Customer B. But Customer B is also watching Prostitute A and Customer A through a peephole. In yet another adjacent room, we have Littlefinger watching Prostitute B and Customer B through another peephole. And in a different room that haven't yet seen, Top Prostitute Ros is meeting her customer.
