redtodd 7 Posted January 16, 2012 I feel bad for the Packers. The refs did their best to keep them in the game (the Jennings fumble and the Rodgers phantom "blow to the head"). This really should have been an insane blow out. Brady > Flynn > Favrah > Discount Double Check Dance > Rodgers
jgcrawfish 232 Posted January 16, 2012 Pull through little buddy! fock that...i hope he plays a one-on-one game of Russian roulette with every chamber full. I laughed at him every time the Giants scored and the Packers turned it over...which was a LOT! Suck it donhass...

Sho Nuff 720 Posted January 16, 2012 I havent seen swampy, don or shoenuff for awhile now. maybe Mike gave them all a time out. Nope...just had not come over here yet. I am shocked the Lions fan has not chimed in by now after the Packer loss though after being gone for a bit.
TD Ryan2 316 Posted January 16, 2012 I do feel bad for GB. The were the best team in the NFL this year. This Pats fan is glad they're out of the dance - didn't really want to play them. And I know this sentiment has applied to NE recently too. DEN, BAL, NYG would make for nice redemption for NE. Now you GB fans will see - when you're the best everyone hates you and next year when you go 13-3 it won't mean squat unless you win it all.

Reality 3,121 Posted January 16, 2012 Every year we are told all season long who the best team in the league is. Then we are all shocked when this so called best team gets beat, every year. Good thing this isn't college football and they actually play the games.
donhaas 18 Posted January 16, 2012 just thawed out and back from the game.... brutal game Packers laid an egg A good season up until today.... Need a pass rush next year don't know who to root for from here on out
donhaas 18 Posted January 16, 2012 True, we should help him. I'll bring the bullets. That's not nice.. Prince Akeem said it best.....The Giants of New York took on the Packers of Green Bay, and in the end, the Giants triumphed by kicking an oblong ball made of pigskin through a big 'H'... It was a most ripping victory!!!

remote controller 143 Posted January 16, 2012 just thawed out and back from the game.... brutal game Packers laid an egg A good season up until today.... Need a pass rush next year don't know who to root for from here on out Not near as bad as they need someone who can cover. That game wasn't near as close as the score made it seem. They laid an omlette! I'm pulling for a Harbaugh/Harbaugh Super Bowl. Those two might throw down during the game a few times!
redtodd 7 Posted January 16, 2012 just thawed out and back from the game.... brutal game Packers laid an egg A good season up until today.... Need a pass rush next year don't know who to root for from here on out Their offense also did not do enough to win. 14 points came strictly from the refs - Jennings Fumble and the "blow to the head" on Rodgers. donhaas 18 Posted January 16, 2012 Not near as bad as they need someone who can cover. I disagree... The Packer DBs can cover.... just way too much time to throw ...And those NY WRs are realllly good... as is Eli. Sooner or later they will get open if given that kind of time.... However, the Hail Mary was just awful defense.... Awful, i tells ya

TD Ryan2 316 Posted January 16, 2012 here in NE, they've been talking a lot about "Defensive Passer Rating" (DPR) and what a telling stat it is for determining a SB winner. DPR basically takes the passer rating stat and applies it to the defense - i.e. what are the opposing QBs passer ratings averaged out to be against that defense. I'm pretty sure this is how they ranked out (as heard on the radio) 1. BAL 2. SF 3. HOU 4. NYG 5. NE 6. NO 7. GB 8. DEN BAL and SF were way ahead of the group, i.e. Tier 1... maybe a score in the 70's? HOU, NYG, NE were all in the mid 80s. NO and GB were high 80s. And DEN was low 90s - meaning most QBs who played DEN had a passer rating in the 90s (not good). If we believe solely in DPR, it will be a BAL/SF Superbowl. donhaas 18 Posted January 16, 2012 Last thing I want to point out about pass rush... I don't know what they showed on TV, but on the Rodgers fumble play I was watching Jennings the whole play and his CB got burned insanely... Jennings was standing in the endzone with nobody around him within 30 yards for an easy TD... But the pass rush gave him zero time to throw and even stripped and took the ball.. Crappy CB play becomes great defense with a good pass rush. That CB bit hard on that double move like a highschooler.. Packers need to find a consistent pass rush... Also... don't fumble the ball.. Also, catch passes that hit your hands

TD Ryan2 316 Posted January 16, 2012 Only playoff teams ranked and considered. DEN was the outlier - many nonPlayoff teams were better. Generally you'll see that the teams with the best DPR are the playoff teams AND out of that group those that are Elite DPR advance. Last year GB was the top DPR team. I'll get you some links in a minute or do. EDIT: Here's a Link to DPR on Cold Hard Football Facts - this is the guy on Sports Radio around here: Link to DPR

The Hood 9 Posted January 16, 2012 One more question Don....... After all your bragging about how Rodgers didn't need to be a stat padder like some other QB's and how it was so smart when he sat 4th qtrs and the last game in the last few weeks...... Do you think that had anything to so with Rodgers and the Pack WR's looking so out of sync out there yesterday? Tons of drops and Rodgers did not look like the great QB he had been all year. Missed on many throws.
IGotWorms 4,060 Posted January 16, 2012 Rodgers was definitely off. Remember that one play, I think it was in the fourth quarter, where he had a receiver WIDE OPEN for a first down and missed him by a mile? I think it might've been Finley. Just an awful throw and very uncharacteristic of Rodgers. (That said, more of the blame lies on the receivers for their numerous drops...no wonder Green Bay couldn't get anything going offensively.)
TD Ryan2 316 Posted January 16, 2012 how it was so smart when he sat 4th qtrs and the last game in the last few weeks...... same thought here. Rodgers was healthy - he didn't get hurt - so that's your ultimate goal? I've said it before - I don't believe NE is running up scores - they are working on things - working with player groups/personnel/etc. I understand that maybe still isn't "good sportsmanship" but from everything I hear/read about Belichick/Brady, time is ALWAYS short for practice, game-plans, etc. If they have an opportunity to maximize time and work on things in a real game, at full game speed, they will. Injury is never their concern - being sharp, precise, and prepared is.
