Mission accomplished. This topic has lacked a certain flair since Sweetd!ck69 stopped showing up, so it is kind of appreciated. We can always use a good mascot.

Thanks Devoured. Thank you for being YOU.

For now.

Eventually the trolls like yourself leave, only to be replaced by a new chaos though.

Why is everyone sleeping on Redskins? We have 7 game win streak too; plus we are home. I know Seahawjs are playing good ball, & have good/better defense, but here in NJ/NY market they are dismissing my beloved Skins :(

Trust me, being such a distant road trip I'm worrying about the matchup.

Because didn't you know, the Seahawks are the best team in NFL history and have the greatest rookie QB of all time!! At least that's what most of these Seachickens fans make them out to be.

Just turn on a TV. ESPN and NFL network can't give enough Redskins love and keep knocking the Seahawks.

Statistically and perception wise, Seattle has the better defense and special teams. Washington, on a season long basis, has been consistently better offensively. That being said, Seattle has take great leaps forward down the stretch with the ascension of Russell Wilson and the offense overall; Wilson was the 2nd best rated road QB over approximately the last 2/3 of the season. Griffin is obviously full of talent, but he isn't 100% with his legs and that takes a bit of his mobility away. I saw how he was favoring one leg over the other trying to turn the corners last week. Plus, he will really have to step into his throws to make accurate passes as the Seahawks secondary is very fast and very big and very talented. Luckily for Griffin, the Seahawks pass rush has been non existent on the road as they rush a minimum of players and sit back in a zone. Speculation is that Carroll saved up his blitz packages for the playoffs, and if that's the case, Seattle is very good blitzing. Plus, with Browner coming back from suspension, the secondary is finally intact for the first time in a month. With the public perception of Washington on this long winning streak, at home, why are they underdogs to a team that "can't win on the road".

All things considered, I expect Seattle to win.

Seattle is very good blitzing.

Listened to Bill Simmons' podcast yesterday, one of the football stats guys pointed out that the Skins do really well when a defense blitzes - RG III makes them pay for it. So maybe the Hawks are better off just rushing four and waiting for Clemons or possibly Irvin to get to the QB. Just sayin'.

I'd be interested in the number before and after Griffin's knee injury. I'd expect that Washington would have to do that damage with RBs and TEs, as I don't think Griffin is going to get WR separation on a blitz against this secondary. So the burden will fall to the LBs to cover well. Leroy Hill is hobbing with a hammy, but at least KJ Wright doesn't seem to be on the injured list as I thought he got banged up last week.

Clemons played well last week, very well. I know that I've dogged the guy since the second we drafted him, but the 2nd half of the season Irvin looks absolutely lost when he takes the field. He hasn't been effective in months. In the last 6 games, Irvin has one sack (last play of game vs Arizona in blow out), averaging 1 tackle per game, but, hey, he recovered a fumble vs Buffalo. So, he produced a little bit in the two huge blowouts. I suppose it's possible the kid hit the rookie wall. Sigh. And when Red Bryant is in the game, he isn't going to get near the QB due to the nature of his run stuffing responsibilities.

Maybe they play more of a spy defense and contained rushing lanes to make sure Griffin doesn't break off a run, as weird as that would be to see with that brace. I don't see any sacks, as in zero, without blitzing. Before the defensive injuries, this team was really stuffing the run. I hope everybody is healthy enough to get back to that. Buffalo managed to run for some decent yards a few weeks ago. Still, the defense overall allows 4.5 yards per rush, which is not good. Not good at all.

I live in Mass. and over here Seattle can't even buy a favorable comment. I'm hoping with a win this week that'll change, but as of right now with the Patriots on a bye (so no ones hanging all over Brady's c0ck) RG3's the greatest thing we've ever seen, and he could take Seattle on 1 on 11 and win.

I think the problem with Seattle, as it is with many up and coming teams is that when they venture from the comforts of home they become less effective at everything they do. The D is slowed slightly and doesnt get help with the noise. The offense has to deal with noise themselves. The confidence of playing at home is lost. Veteran teams with veterqan players like Denver, Pats, packers, etc, etc can handle this stuff. Seattle is too fresh for that just yet. They are a different team on the road and the Skins are just as hot right now.

I think it will be a good game but in the end The Foreskins should be able to handle the Seabags. In a few years if Seattle keeps up the personnel building and Wilson keeps evolving... THEN you might have a road-team juggernaut. Like the Giants were through the last few playoffs. ;)

I have to give Seattle credit - since like the inception of the franchise up to this point they've been essentially worthless and quite UNimportant in the NFL landscape. Hell, I even picked them as a team that could be elminated along with Buffalo, Jacksonville, and Cleveland to strengthen the talent pool in the NFL and cut back the number of teams. However, I will admit that their current situation is making them more worthwhile. Props to the Seabags.

I think one of the problems also is. (At least from where I live in Patriotsville). Is everyone around here absolutely hates Pete Carroll.

The guy built a great college program, is good with his defense, and is a secondary mastermind. But even though he had no controll over the player personel and still had a 500 record, using the guys he was told to use. He got fired from the pats and jets, so around here he's a hack. So theirs actually some hatred towards Seattle because they don't want to see him win with them.

I have said the same thing about your contribution to this fantasy football message board. Up to this point you have bascially been UNimportant and your opinions are wothless. In fact, I think your account should be eliminated to strengthen the talent pool of posters and cut back on the number of trolls.

The Seahawks have made the playoffs 7 of the past 10 years. They've won a bunch of playoff games. For fock's sake, they went to the Super Bowl.

They've just completely overturned their roster and rebuilt the team in 3 years, 2 of which they made the playoffs in.

Unimportant in the landscape?

Awe - did I hurt your feelings? Im a legend and I tell like it is. Not everyone can handle the troof. Seattle HAS been unimportant in the NFL. Im sorry, but thats a fact. When they are on TV, hardly anyone cares except Seabag fans. Theres a reason they used to never get prime time or MNF games. Its because they were irrelevant. Thats a fact. I tried to be nice and say that they look to be turning it around and I gave them props. Why ya gotta be like that?

Yeah, unimportant. Thats because they just never had had a very "sexy" team as in intriguing players that the world wants to watch. Lots of teams make the playoffs and just end up being fodder for the professional teams anyways. Happens all the time. Its not all their fault but it is what it is. The Bucs were like for a loooong time too until they got their crap together under Dungy and Chucky. The Bills USED to matter when they were good and loaded with recognizable stars. Remember? Now - even most Buffalo fans have something better to do. There are other teams like this too. Happens in all sports.

Like I said - things are looking up and the team is exciting and inteesting for a change. Still with horrible focking uniforms...but good nonetheless. Thats all.

So is anyone else terrified of RGIII? I really would have preferred any other matchup, Packers, Vikings, Falcons or the 49ers. I know it doesn't make sense because the Packers and 49ers are so good but wow Griffin is incredible.

It's mostly how terrifying he is when he gets outside the pocket even at 3/4 speed compared to earlier in the season. Their stadium was rocking in the Redskins/Cowboys game and I hate to see an opponents stadium with that much energy and a player as electric as RGIII. That Redskins defense is sneaky good they don't get much credit but they are tough.

I know the Rams have played us tough for the last couple years but I was hoping for an easy blowout so we had a bit more momentum on the offenses side going into this game. I still think we can win this game but boy I sure wish the cowboys had won that game.

Yeah, love fanboy meltdowns. It makes the forums so much more exciting. Honestly, I kind of have a soft spot in my heart for the Skins since they were my dads favorite team. However, I want the best team to win and whomever will be more of a challenge to the next team they play.

Hey, remember that bum Josh Wilson, the bust that was dumped for a low round 2011 conditional pick a few years ago by Carroll and Schneider. Funny how that pick turned into Richard Sherman.

Yahtzee!! :pointstosky:

Has Toast Wilson done any chirping this week? That butt nugget probably has. A bolted down fire hydrant could get 120 and 2 TDs on him.

Interesting. When he was traded to the Ravens for that 5th rounder late in preseason, I seem to recall a generally consensus view that the team had lost their minds trading away a perfectly good CB. Was that the Schneider/Carroll regime or their predecessors? Can't remember. I can tell you that at the time I thought it was a mistake to trade Wilson. Shows how much I know since he subsequently moved to the Skins and, as you pointed out, it helped land Sherman.

With the secondary as putrid as it was, there was some chatter of why we were giving up a starting cornerback for low value, especially since we kept Kelly Jennings around longer and most considered him worse than Wilson. The thought was the secondary stinks and now it would stink more. It was more despair over the value of the trade rather than the player given up. I didn't like taking mediocre corners Wilson and Jennings back to back so high in the two drafts, but that was Ruskell for you at work. I think there was some faith in Carroll's decision at the time because of his background of coaching defensive secondary. I think Wilson did not have nice things to say. But Baltimore didn't play him all that much, so they didn't have to give a 4th round pick. But the 5th turned out to be terrific.

I was reading something about Seattle wanting to draft Arian Foster in the 7th round during that one season Jim Mora Jr was the coach, and when they called him, Foster was so upset at the prospect of getting drafted so late, Seattle hung up the phone and drafted somebody else. Nice job, Ruskell and Mora.
