Which of these ballads, performed by usually-harder rocking bands, is your favorite?

Wait was a pretty easy choice for me here. Great guitar line. Vito Bratta could make Ebony and Ivory sound kickass if he wrote a guitar track for it.

Journey.

How are you picking these? It seems kinda random...

Scorps crush these

Wind of Change or Still Loving You?

posty is right, should be Love Bites(which sucks), and shouldn't it be When the Children Cry from White Lion. Wait isn't really a power ballad.

Went with Open Arms.

very random. As have all these polls from since last week (other than the top ten all-time selling albums. That was from a list).

Any plans to go back and finish the ones you started? If I remember correctly, we only got through A-E...

Open Arms - although I like Faithfully more than that even.

Yup. For sure. I contemplated going all the way through and doing four or five straight new wave polls, or just breaking it up every day with different genres, in case people didn't like the particular one we were doing that day. So I decided to mix it up. But being that new wave is probably my all-time favorite music genre, I will definitely be going back to it. :)

if you think Journey is usually hard rocking, you need to re-listen.

I'll take Skid Row - Wasted Time

"harder". Reread what I typed. Never claimed that any one of these bands were hard rock.

I guess you should have added Styx to the mix

...or REO, or Bryan Adams, or Night Ranger..... Probably could have made 50 choices.

Sorry... was confused by the lack of organization.

Carry on...

Good one. I was thinking Nothing Else Matters by Mettalica.

Voted Open Arms. I think it was our prom song, or class song, or some sorta shiot. :dunno:

For me Home Sweet Home is one of my favorite songs but I agree to not have Scorpions "Winds of Change or Send me an Angle" and White Lion is When the Children Cry - not Wait.

Open Arms - I don't have any statistics to back this up, but I bet it was the #1 wedding song in the 80's

When the children cry is possibly the worst song of all time and I love, love Mike Tramp, Vitto Brata and White Lion.

1. Those songs all suck.

2. If they had all been on 1 album, that album would have sold 62infinity copies.

Scorps crush these

My first thought was this. They had a helluva string of power ballads in the late 80s leading up to "Wind of Change"....which I think is one of the best songs ever, though I'm not sure if I would consider it a power ballad per-say.

It's still a good list despite no Scorps.

True.

Of the given choices "Wait" is my favorite. The guuitar solo is great.

Most of you fockheads are missing the point of this thread.

The title isn't " the best power ballad ever", but: "Your Favorite of these Ten Power Ballads "
