highsider5 36 Posted November 16, 2013 I don't have my supercomputer on me, but I'm thinking no... I recall wins against the raiders and jags and bills... and not to diminish any 9-0 mark, which is rockin, but don't they have a pretty easy 2-14 schedule this year? Matt Mueller 146 Posted November 16, 2013 They will get a real test here with Denver and San Diego upcoming. Personally I'm sitting the D until they prove they can handle the big boys.
snatchit 108 Posted November 16, 2013 Some friends of mine and I drove from Dallas to see them play the Chiefs.... Dallas had another ho hum game on the road and the Chiefs got super lucky and won. The fans were acting like they won the SB. Anyways an under achieving cowboys almost beat them in their own stadium. I can say it was so loud when Dallas had the ball I could hardly hear myself think... it was bad. Chiefs probably will win this game with Denver... only because Peyton cant move around and he is missing oline men. But I wouldn't put any stock in it. The Panthers would probably kick their asss
highsider5 36 Posted November 17, 2013 looking at the schedule, it looks like they are mopping up scrubs so, just the good and bad of a fourth place schedule personally I'd like to see em stay hot and if the scheduling juju works it, it would rock to see Denver in KC for a patented one and done Peyton playoff run. You can only play who you're scheduled to play. Not allowing more than 17 points in a game is pretty impressive, especially in this day and age. Tomorrow's game will be interesting. highsider5 36 Posted November 17, 2013 LMFAO... :owned: spot on dude, you are correct, the donkeys have not beaten a winning team either, they did beat Dallas and Philly who currently happen to be 5-5 so, that's not a winning record... good catch man, guess the game of the week showdown of fury is really kind of a tidy bowl... LOL... I'm so laughing at this "battle of the titans" now.
cbfalcon 825 Posted November 17, 2013 Dallas and Philly have winning records if you take away their games against the Chiefs. You have to take that into account with this type of question. Unless you are scared.

IMMensaMind 462 Posted November 17, 2013 I think Denver handles KC easily. 13 point win. Peyton Manning doesn't move anyway, and a shot will allow him to pivot. The game plan will revolve around quicker outlet passes and slants. Moreno and Welker will have a lot of those. I think DEN wants the ball out of Manning's hands in 2.75 seconds or less tonight. justforbeer 41 Posted November 17, 2013 Actually Alex is 18-2 in the last 20 starts. No matter how you slice it, kc is a very good team. I think if the game starts well for kc, they have a real shot to win. One thing I have been noticing about manning and Denver as early in the year they were near perfect but I have been seen a lot of 3 and out on their offense last few games

I think that KC's defense is top notch but I dont think that thier air attack can keep up with the Broncos. But one interesting stat that I heard on CBS.com is when Peyton gets sacked 4 times or more in a game he usually loses. That being said, I think that he could get sacked twice but not 4 times in this game.

highsider5 36 Posted November 18, 2013 http://www.advancednflstats.com/2013/11/the-worst-8-0-team-of-all-time.html?m=1 Bump wow, not only is that a lot of typing, but they used the term Pythagorean and didn't draw a single triangle in 22 pages of whatever that was... amazing!! still, I wouldn't call em the worst team by any stretch, you can't be the worst anything and have a defense rank second in scoring, even if your last in offense and beating up on teams that would get smoked in the CFL too well at least in canadia they paint the entire helmet right?!?! kutulu 1,680 Posted November 18, 2013 Pythagorean expectation is a formula invented by Bill James to estimate how many games a baseball team "should" have won based on the number of runsthey scored and allowed. Comparing a team's actual and Pythagorean winning percentage can be used to evaluate how lucky that team was (by examining the variation between the two winning percentages). The name comes from the formula's resemblance to the Pythagorean theorem....The formula has also been used in pro football by football stat website and publisher Football Outsiders, where it is known as Pythagorean projection. The 2011 edition of Football Outsiders Almanac[11] states, "From 1988 through 2004, 11 of 16 Super Bowls were won by the team that led the NFL in Pythagorean wins, while only seven were won by the team with the most actual victories. Super Bowl champions that led the league in Pythagorean wins but not actual wins include the 2004 Patriots, 2000 Ravens, 1999 Rams and 1997 Broncos."Although Football Outsiders Almanac acknowledges that the formula had been less-successful in picking Super Bowl participants from 20052008, it reasserted itself in 2009 and 2010. Furthermore, "[t]he Pythagorean projection is also still a valuable predictor of year-to-year improvement. Teams that win a minimum of one full game more than their Pythagorean projection tend to regress the following year; teams that win a minimum of one full game less than their Pythagoerean projection tend to improve the following year, particularly if they were at or above .500 despite their underachie.comving. For example, the 2008 New Orleans Saints went 8-8 despite 9.5 Pythagorean wins, hinting at the improvement that came with the next year's championship season." skinsrule05 30 Posted November 18, 2013 I don't believe anyone, except their blinded fans, thought KC was an undefeated team as the Patriots when they were 9-0. I actually don't think too many people that thought they were even better the Denver. It is amazing how many QBs that KC has beat up on that weren't even starters last year. kilroy69 1,251 Posted November 18, 2013 KC is who we thought they were. Pretenders. In order for the chiefs to win the superbowl they need to follow the ravens sb team plan the year they used Stover their exceptional D and trent dilfer making NO mistakes. The chiefs are not the vaunted ravens D of yore and smith is not going to be able to keep them competitive enough against the good teams let alone the great ones. I give andy reed credit for taking advantage of the weak schedule but its not gonna last.
highsider5 36 Posted November 18, 2013 they still haven't? newp... and now looking like the weakest 9-1 ever, Denver seemed beatable too... well, not by the chefs but the donkeys aren't without worry either.

I give andy reed credit for taking advantage of the weak schedule but its not gonna last. yup, especially come playoffs time. The other thing about comparing them to teams of yesteryear that did it while 'hiding the qb' is this. The league is a passing league. You can't win just running the ball and playing field position and D, unless your D is out of this world. Their D is good, but not great. IF they can lock up home field for the entire playoffs, which is unlikely as I think they lose to the broncos in a couple of weeks, they might have a chance at a run to the superbowl, and with the SB being played in NY this year, the weather could help them, but that's getting way far ahead. They go anywhere on the road in the playoffs and they're done. Alex smith is terrible. They have a stud rb and McCluster and Bowe can make some plays but the qb will be their downfall...
