Brad GLuckman 519 Posted February 20, 2014 I seriously haven't watched any CNN for years but I didn't even think they ran programming where a partisan windbag on par with the aforementioned goes off for an hour. Piers Morgan

phillybear 366 Posted February 20, 2014 A few things. The reason the ratings are so high for FOX News is because of all the liberals that tune in. Yep, it's not just due to conservatives watching. I remember reading rating numbers that more liberals watch FOX News than CNN and MSNBC combined. They prefer to watch the news on FOX. The lowest rated rerun in the middle of the night on FOX crushes the highest rated show on any other news channel. Further, Fox leans hard conservative. CNN is the opposite as they lean hard liberal. MSNBC are all about flying planes into buildings. As a staunch Libertarian, I appreciate some of the programming in FOX News and FOX Business Channel. Between the personalities and issues covered on Red Eye, The Independents, and John Stossel, at least they give Libertarians a voice. The other cable networks ignore independents. I will give MSNBC some credit for giving Ron Paul some screen time, but they were basically doing it to mock him. FOX News tried to destroy Ron Paul during his Presidential run vs Mitt Romney, as was the Republican party leaders with their shenanigans, which was horsesh!t. NewbieJr 541 Posted February 20, 2014 I can't stand Piers Morgan so I never watch him. He is such a smug ass hole. I don't know much about his politics, other than the fact that he is a strong anti-gun advocate. Wish he'd go back to England.

TD Ryan2 316 Posted February 20, 2014 This thread is pretty funny. You all pretty much agree that: MSNBC is wayyyyy out there left, and clearly the most biased network FOX is to the right, and probably second most biased network (though maybe it's their op-ed stuff that's most guilty) CNN - is left - center, biased - but not quite as obviously biased as FOX or MSNBC Most other news networks - lean left, but aren't quite as bad as the "Cable Networks" you all pretty much agree with this - yet there are 5 pages of partisan arguing and nit picking. Don't any of you EVER criticize your government again, you are worse than they are - at least some of the issues they are tackling are important and worth picking nits over. phillybear 366 Posted February 20, 2014 Piers Morgan has about 50,000 viewers per night of his talk show. Just terrible numbers. However, ever since he left America's Got Talent, the ratings for that show have sharply and steadily plummeted; the show is a total disaster now. So I guess people liked his judging but not his politics.

There are several posters here suggesting that Fox News is unbiased or close to it. If they'd just admit that it's wildly biased entertainment then we could all fold up shop and go home. IGotWorms 4,058 Posted February 20, 2014 fox is right bias, haven't seen anyone deny that, only those denying cnn is bias. This is one of those cases where you're seeing what you want to see even if it isn't actually there. Just about the only "defense" of CNN I have seen here is that, yes, it has a bias, but is not as strongly biased as MSNBC or Fox News. Is that really so controversial? TD Ryan2 316 Posted February 20, 2014 is it possible you do not recognize the left bias of cnn because you yourself has left bias ? I labeled them as left-center. CNN is left biased. CNN is not as left biased as MSNBC. CNN is not as left biased as FOX is right biased, though FOX's bias is hard to truly gauge b/c their op-ed is so far right. Is the nit you're looking to pick that you think CNN is just as left biased as FOX is right biased?

Why not stay on topic instead of shooting the messenger with all subjects. Could it be the links are accurate and the only real bias is that one network will cover them while the other wont ? avoiding injuries 1,589 Posted February 20, 2014 Have the Looney liberals started biotching about Fox Sports political leanings yet? Maybe they can get someone like Bob Costas to make a political rant during the halftime shows of their sporting events. I ways get a kick out of NBC, not MSNBC, when the present a story with a liberal slant and then have David Axelrod or Debbie Wassernan-Schultz give an interview to counter balance it. And if it's not them, Andrea Mitchell, Chuck Todd or some other host of an MSNBC program are there to give commentary. MSNBC has carried over to NBC. There's not much difference anymore. My perception that FOX is more on par with MSNBC is probably because they're both much more popular and watched. I also think the obnoxiousness level is a lot higher. Olbermann and that fat blowhard who replaced him are a lot more like Hannity IMO. Why anybody from either side of the aisle would subject themselves to that sh1t is a mystery to me. It's very simple...because people have their minds made up on issues before they even hear them. They don't want news, they only want to watch people who share their beliefs and tell them exactly what they want to hear.

KSB2424 3,148 Posted February 20, 2014 Shephard Smith on FoxNews always seemed really down the middle when I used to catch it. I think he is pretty high up on he FoxNews team. He pretty much does the actual breaking news and "news" part of Fox which you find during the daytime hours before the Editorial shows kick in around 7:00pm est. Also (on the talk show front), I read somewhere where Michael Smerconish is getting a new show on CNN. He is another person who tries to talk common sense as opposed to picking a side and then contiually downgrading the "other" side instead of just talking about the issue at hand. Just throwing some options out there of cable news for folks who aren't looking for completely partisan talk.
