Magnificent Bastard 191 Posted August 14, 2015 Played in vs. won it. I never claimed they were non-factors. HTH Very good team...great at times. But overall...I don't think they are some great all time team. All that winning and we are looking at Brady, and a few carpet baggers in the HOF (Revis, Moss). If you think about it, they are the worst dynasty and they admitted to cheating, twice. Looks like someone needed an edge, considering the lack of talent. Dynasty tag revoked. Wow. One drafted HOF'r. That's almost impossible.

Magnificent Bastard 191 Posted August 14, 2015 As a Giants fan, you should know better than anyone that just because a QB looks like complete dogsh1t doesn't mean you can't back your way into a title Well, if you knew anything about your team, you would know the Pats had much more success when Tawmmee was throwing it a lot less. The Giants don't win anything without stellar, clutch game winning, come from behind 4th quarter drives. You remember them, right?
TD Ryan2 316 Posted August 14, 2015 Packers or Seahawks yup. Colts then Pats round out 3 and 4 with nearly the same odds... does that make you feel better that they're "among" the favorites? Or "AFC Favorites"? There are 2 teams in each Division that are highly likely to be in the SuperBowl... NE is one of them AGAIN as they have been for 15 YEARS! It's silly watching you dissect the details to suggest that NE isn't again one of the most likely teams to be in the SuperBowl. Tell yourself Blue is Green all you want... it may make you feel better but it doesn't make it true.

Well, if you knew anything about football you would know that all teams have more success when their QBs are throwing it a lot less... ask Elway, ask Manning, ask Montana - then go ask the guys who never threw less (Marino, Fouts, Moon). NewbieJr 541 Posted August 14, 2015 Maybe you watched the 4th Q of last years Superbowl if you wanted to see the definition of 4th quater clutch... Actually, it was an exhibit on 4th quarter choking by Carroll and Wilson. The biggest gift in NFL history.
parrot 789 Posted August 14, 2015 Didn't get to watch it. Was he really bad? What are some observations about him? Not great, but I wouldn't read too much into it yet. No Gronk, no Edelman, no Lafell, no Blount, no Bolden, little Amendola, and a patchwork O-line with 4 rookies. And for some reason he had a lock on Boyce, who was terrible. Then again the couple times he did get open deep Jimmy underthrew it by 5-10 yards. He tends to hold the ball too long as well. Defense gave up some plays but looked pretty solid. If last night wasn't a pre-season aberration, Sheard and Jones are going to wreak some havoc. Flowers had some nice plays too but he got injured, hopefully nothing serious. KSB2424 3,148 Posted August 14, 2015 Since day one, really. A bullsh1t trumped-up "controversy" from the very get-go Meh. My personal opinion? (not that you asked) Brady and his equipment guys were deflating balls on purpose to the lowest they thought was allowed and maybe even a little bit more, because, hey they don't check them after the the first time so why not. It's cheating akin to pumping noise or something. Technically bad, but in the pantheon of "cheating" its minor. But they got called out on it. And they deny, deny, deny. So the big bad dufous Goodell takes that personally and he does what Roger does. Drops the hammer because he thinks his job is to be some focking King of the NFL and is on a power trip. Now we have this mountain out of a mole hill. It's all insane. It's what happens when you get two ego's clashing. Nobody blinks.

I agree except that I do think it's quite possible brady didn't know they were crossing the line. He knows they're keeping the ball pressure low and it makes him happy. Doesn't know exactly how far they were going but also doesn't care to know. Just don't have another focking game where the ball is at 16 psi and he's happy. IMO, NE realized they were going to get called out on something so ridiculous (and common place) that they decided to play hard ball back.
NewbieJr 541 Posted August 14, 2015 That would be the tipped ball that got them down there in the first place. Tipped balls happen all the time. Part of the game. Opposing coach deciding he didn't want to score the winning touchdown the easy way, is a gift.

Same as GB will be among the favorites as long as Rodgers is playing like this. Its not rocket science. Helps also playing in a division with perennial powers like the Jets, Bills, and Dolphins. Claiming they are favorites does not make it true either.
parrot 789 Posted August 14, 2015 Tipped balls happen all the time. Part of the game. Opposing coach deciding he didn't want to score the winning touchdown the easy way, is a gift. Tipped balls that land in the lap of a receiver laying flat on his back 40 yds downfield don't happen all the time. If there was a gift in that game, that was it. If the Pats hadn't done a great job prepping for that play and "MALCOLM GO!" doesn't make one of the single best defensive plays in Super Bowl history, they do score easily there. You're comparing the random direction a tipped ball goes with a conscious decision to throw a pass at the goal line when Marshawn Lynch was busting through the weak Patriots defense like tissue paper. cbfalcon 825 Posted August 14, 2015 So the guys here that believe in Roger Goodell's findings and claim to be objective when looking at this whole thing, are now going back through the Super Bowls and pointing out how lucky the Pats were to win them anyway. There are actually Patriot fans who now think the league wants Brady suspended because the patriots are just so dominant that they want to give the rest of the league a chance and make the other 31 owners happy. At that point, it was pointed out that the pats have only won one title in the last ten years and that was because of a terrible coaching call by Carroll. Try to keep up instead of chiming in and looking like an ass hole.
