$epphori$ 118 Posted December 5, 2016 I picked him before game time just in case he finally had a decent game. Since I am last in waiver priority I have to take shots at guys before the Sunday games. So anyways he sure did look great didnt he? But he was wide open numerous times so its obvious Giants D didnt think he was going to be in game plan much. He looks like he is finally healthy and Ben obviously trusts him. With AB being double covered all the time and Bell being a RB they have to keep an eye on. This is a perfect recipe for success for us playoff teams for weeks 14-16. I even have Walker at TE but I am going to look long and hard at these matchups the next few weeks. What do you guys think of him?

Guess who my other tight end on both of those rosters is? Walker. So yeah I am in the same boat. I'm not sure how good Denver is against tight ends. I would assume pretty good. I know the Titans pass offense has some tough games ahead. Defenses can't focus on Brown, Bell and Green. I do think that Green could be what many were hoping Rodgers would be
weepaws 3,193 Posted December 5, 2016 Yeah liked him back when the Steeelers sign him. Congrats on picking him up. He's still available so I'm going shopping.
BobSanders_33 127 Posted December 5, 2016 With the TE position it is a dart throw every week. I'll take a guy that gets downfield and is on a good pass offense.
jgcrawfish 232 Posted December 5, 2016 I grabbed him Sunday morning in 2 leagues, will probably get him 2 more this week if I can. The Steelers have been desperate for another playmaker down the field and Green is that guy. Scary part is that Coates will return and get some play at some point and Green will be even more effect then when defenses have to respect the downfield speed of Coates. Steelers offense is humming and facing a fairly easy stretch schedule.
plasma george 62 Posted December 5, 2016 He's available in our League, and I may look at him if Reed is still out. Vernon did well when Reed was out, except of course when I choose to play him yesterday (And Fleener did better on my bench)
Oriole8159 86 Posted December 5, 2016 I own both Reed and Delanie AND have the top waiver priority for all teams within the playoff hunt, and I'm thinking of using my waiver priority to get him just to block the other teams. Of the team's most likely to make the playoffs, two teams have major TE issues (one being the Gronk owner) so a guy like Green could do a lot to help those two teams. May be more valuable sitting on my bench.

American Chewy 98 Posted December 6, 2016 Not to throw cold water on this fire but steelers have 2 straight road games where they've been awful offensively then bmore at home. Bills and bmore are top 10 vs te as well. He's available in my league, I'm going to pass and I have slumping olsen.

Offensive line is gelling, defense is playing better, and Green gives them a BIG extra weapon on offense, easing the load on Brown and Bell. I'm buying in every league where I have room. Ravens calling card is run defense, they will take away Bell so there will be extra work for someone else. The safe bet is Green.
weepaws 3,193 Posted December 6, 2016 Any te not named Gronk is always a question mark for success. I'm going to try to pick him up , but not a bummer if I don't pick him up.

With Reed and Delanie (no flex) I'd never play Green, so is he that much better than the guys (Fiedorowicz, Pitta, V Davis) the other teams could get on the waiver wire anyway? It'd be nice to have that waiver priority if a RB injury happens so that I can pounce.
AintNoStoppinMeNow 68 Posted December 6, 2016 It seems like they are using him more as a WR than a TE. Even with his limited snap counts, he's running mainly pass routes and is getting downfield for big plays. This team is desperate for another Martavis Bryant and thought they had one in Sammie Coates. I think Haley is starting to deploy Green as more of the big body WR than the traditional TE. Better or not I can't say (for instance, the defenses Fiedorowicz faces are friendlier to TEs), but I feel I can assert with confidence that Green's ceiling is higher than those three. Martavis Bryant - anybody hear any news on him? No news is good news for a guy in his position, right? Man, the Steelers could be a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses next season if he can get his head on straight.....

Eaglessb 12 Posted December 7, 2016 I need a te but could also use flex help. I put in a waiver request for ginn, green and Davis. I figure I would rather have ginn and Davis then just green if possible if not then take green over davis. I have the highest priority of the playoff teams but in our league the non playoff teams play a tournament for $50 and first round pick next year so its possible one of those guys might make a move before me. AintNoStoppinMeNow 68 Posted December 7, 2016 Drop Hunter Henry for Green? I need 10 points from my TE! YES! I did this weeks ago when Gates came back and Henry got hurt. It hurt to drop Henry because he really carried me for a few weeks but barring injury to Gates, he's way too hard to trust in a playoff matchup. I stashed Green and Vernon Davis for the playoff run hoping one would pay off. So far it's Green.
Oriole8159 86 Posted December 7, 2016 man, I'm really going back and forth on whether it's worth using my waiver priority on him to block him from getting to other teams. It'd be nice to have that waiver priority if a RB injury happens so that I can pounce. I decided against putting in the claim, and he went to the owner in 3rd place, who has been platooning Gates and Bennett the past few weeks. Gates has a really good playoff schedule so could be effective even sharing time with Henry, so not sure that Green with tough matchups is a huge upgrade for him. Or maybe I'm just rationalizing. Loaded Box 5 Posted December 7, 2016 We talked about Green on one of our latest podcast episodes and we discussed how he may be one of those guys that you can add as a temporary fix and then move on since it's the playoffs and you can sort of plug the best guys in and then ditch them since there may be no tomorrow if you lose. (Similar to how defenses are played week-to-week come playoff time) He finally looked like what Pittsburgh was hoping last week recording over 100 yards and a touchdown; and now he's going against Buffalo who has allowed three TD's in its last five games to opposing TE's. So I'm not opposed to using Green this week if you're an owner of a tight end who has either been disappointing or suffered a recent injury. Plus, the Steelers have a solid offense when things are clicking, so it's also a strong benefit to use players on teams that average a lot of points.
