fandandy 3,311 Posted January 16, 2018 She prolly pretty much destroyed this guys career and I guess prior to reading the link I expected her account to be much worse than it was. Keeping in mind this is her account and his is prolly even more tame and consensual. I think the rule of thumb moving forward is in mouth = consent.
kilroy69 994 Posted January 16, 2018 That's the rub. It's girl power. Untill something they dont want to happen goes down. Then it's wilting Violet
naomi 343 Posted January 16, 2018 I think most people would probably assume the last few things that happened before she finally exited the situation would have been unwanted. But those actions of his even make a kind of sense, as his mind was also adjusting to a situation not going as planned. Too much grey, shouldn't have gone public IMO, but she shouldn't be reamed for a lack of what should be fairly clear cues.

She basically said 'no' in what for her must have been less awkward words than an abrupt 'no' for the different particular situations. "He kept asking (where she wanted him to insert his ######), so I said, ‘Next time.’ And he goes, ‘Oh, you mean second date?’ and I go, ‘Oh, yeah, sure,’ "

naomi 343 Posted January 16, 2018 During the Adam Carolla era, yes? Did you know he and Dr. Drew do a half-hour (or so) daily podcast? Highly recommend. Yes. Wouldn't now though. Mookz 1,287 Posted January 16, 2018 Yes. Wouldn't now though. It was informative at the time for my age. What do you like about it now? Well, it's not the same as Loveline. They take calls, but not from troubled teens. From grown-ups like us who used to listen to Loveline. The show ends up mostly being a discussion of modern society. Adam is still an analogical and comic genius but is also full of insight, wisdom and motivation with a unique perspective on human nature. (Dr. Drew makes a good point every now and then too.) Would recommend. Just download a couple of episodes, if only for the nostalgia.
RaiderHaters Revenge 3,585 Posted January 16, 2018 yah its funny, growing up, I always thought of Adam as the comedic side-kick on love-line. Now as hes grown its most certainly him and then Drew is only there for medical references, really doesn't make an impact on the show I love the fact that Adam was a poor kid whose mom was on welfare and from a young age saw how bad it was living off the Govt. Who has been in Hollywood for decades and lived that life, and is one of the few to speak against the insanity of liberalism

It used to bug the heck out of me on Loveline when Adam would start to rant and Drew (probably feeling like he wasn't contributing) would take him off on some dumb tangent. Then they would have to go to commercial and Adam would never get to his original point. He is much better about circling back to it now.

naomi 343 Posted January 16, 2018 Must watch (i think. Im a bit drunk)...This one leaves a mark. Definitely will. I do feel bad the girl had the experience she did, and she should have left sooner (although I do get the stupid human rationale going into why she didn't), but more importantly, in the balance of things, it's definitely not worth ruining his career. The positive is if there's pieces like this coming from CNN, and The Atlantic article was what it was, Ansari is most likely not done for.
titans&bucs&bearsohmy! 2,745 Posted January 16, 2018 Different thread. Are you anything if you don't practice? Muslims and Jews seem to think they are born into it. Catholics must practice, at least a bit (C&E crowd), for me to consider them Catholic. I know in some countries, Malaysia for instance, your ID has Muslim or not on it. If you are born to a Muslim family, you are considered Muslim. If you are seen in public drinking, eating pork, etc., you can be asked to show ID. If it says Muslim, you get in trouble, whether you believe it or not. Folks like ISIS say that apostates (those born Muslim who leave) are to be killed. titans&bucs&bearsohmy! 2,745 Posted January 16, 2018 these allegations are pathetic. Did you say no? You didnt? Then Fock of. You went to a guys apartment after a date. naomi 343 Posted January 16, 2018 ^Pakistan is another country with the Muslim by heritage and ID dynamic like that. Really tricky for those that quit being Muslim by faith. Ah okay, so maybe you were more interested in the subject matter (briefly) than a fan of the Ace Man, but I still think you may find it worthwhile. I actually do vaguely remember instances of wanting to hear more from Adam, Dr. Drew was the time consuming guru. So that does sound like a plus. Titans, the whole encounter was a protracted, super gray ordeal. She said "next time" to express not wanting sex at one point. Side-topic: I'm getting the impression a fair amount of millenial women don't process going to the guy's place as going to absolutely have sex. Maybe they are thinking of intimacy, just not to that level. Since I don't operate in that scene, I can't ascertain how ridiculous or not that is. One time I did go to a guy's place after a first time out and just wound up sitting on his lap (really strange that it was while we watched Forensic Files, but I digress). wiffleball 4,642 Posted January 16, 2018 Wow. Strongly recommend you guys go out to YouTube and pull up Ashley Banfield slams Ansari accuser in open letter. It's in the trending section right now. And she just destroys this woman. And rightfully so. And one of her last points? She regrets that she Banfield can't name you publicly and shame you publicly as you the accuser chose to do with ansari. Really well done. Banfield brings up the huge amount of damage that this idiot did to the cause. The games of Chief so far and anything that might be achieved in the future or compromised because of her. Because she had a bad date. Again, really strongly recommend you go out and watch this. Not very long. Like a minute and a half. But well worth it

Patriotsfatboy1 1,432 Posted January 16, 2018 More women coming to Ansari's defense https://nypost.com/2018/01/15/the-metoo-movement-has-officially-jumped-the-shark/ It’s official. #MeToo has jumped the shark. It happened with Saturday’s brutal, public character assassination of actor Aziz Ansari — a dude who’s laid claim to being one of Hollywood’s good guys. Now, his reputation is in tatters and his career threatened because of a lady who took her time saying “No.” Men — even decent, sensitive, feminist men — be afraid. This could happen to you. But writing in The Atlantic, Caitlin Flanagan called the Babe post “revenge porn.” “Allegations against the comedian are proof that women are angry, temporarily powerful — and very, very dangerous,” a subheadline above the piece reads. Good points.

Gladiators 1,904 Posted January 16, 2018 Right? smack a b1tch if you needed to and woman were actually decent wives, dressed up and took care of their men? Give an inch and they take a mile. I don't condone the way women were treated for the past thousands of years, but JFC have things changed. This is the world we've created. We don't do much for work outings anymore because people b!tch about EVERYTHING. Well they spent $2k going to XYZ game and we only spent $1k on our outing. How come their lunch costs $15 per person and ours was only $10. I'm vegetarian, so I guess I CAN'T go to the Holiday Party (you better not focking call it a Christmas Party). Sharon is getting an adjustable (standing) desk? Well of course I want one too. No I'm not going to use it, but if she's getting one then I'm getting one. It never focking ends. cbfalcon 824 Posted January 16, 2018 I've been saying for months in these threads....Yes, of course it was going to go too far. There would be over reactions and course corrections that had to occur. We are in month 3-4 of trying to improve a 2000+ year problem. Everyone expected it to go perfectly? I am more of a macro thinker than a micro thinker. Today may be sloppy, but the next 100 years will be better off for all of this occurring. It's a huge net positive.
