It's not that I can't count, it's just that I'm use to drafting with an even number of people. The alternating numbers are supposed to add up to an odd number not even. So, being on my phone without looking, I assumed I was drafting each round alternating in the 8-7-8-7-8-7 position, not the 8-8-8-8-8-8 position each round.

Hotel California to start with. Picked way to early. Cats in the Cradle wasn't even Chapin's best song.

Sure it was

And Harry's "best song"? :dunno:

A song that will be drafted later by someone, so let's not name it now.

I don't know who or why, there's really only one iconic song.......so yeah, have at it.

Well there it is... except you go and pick probably their worst song

Except when the Road Warriors enter the ring and proceed to destroy a couple of jobbers.

If "cant you see" by the Marshall Tucker Band" isn't a first round pick this whole thing is a farce.

I think sux deserves a 1 round penalty for asking if I meant kiss as the most influential band of the 70's

Are you seriously looking at lists to make your picks? I mean c'mon Cats In The Cradle in the top 30 of all time 70's? See,that's just my opinion and it's no different than every list out there.

Just about everyone's top 5 songs is gonna be different. None of the top 5 picks are in MY top 5 simply because I like other songs more.

I'll tell you right now that my top 2 70's songs are in this order. I went Magic Man first even though it's not my #1 of the 70s. I wanted to make sure I got it at risk of GYOW making it to me in the 2nd.

1. Go Your Own Way

2. Running On Empty

I can interchange all kinds of others in the next 3 spots.

I know a million songs, but yes I've scoured a couple lists for "popular songs of the 70's". My memory isn't what it used to be. This is a tough competitive bunch, I didn't want to miss anything.

Great songs are not only based on, sales, but staying power, etc.

Absolutely agree I'm just trying to point out that none of us are wrong,Cats In The Cradle is a very good song,it just wouldn't have made my list.I promise before this thing is over I'm going to have a couple of WTF picks but they're songs that resonated with me and that's all that counts.

I get that American Pie is a classic, but I heard that song so much at every party in college, I just can't listen to it anymore.

3.11 Black Sabbath - Iron Man

I was between Sabbath and...

... the iconic anthem for every teenage boy trying to score in the back seat of a car.

3.12 Paradise by the Dashboard Light - Meat Loaf

Remember Night Court in the 80's, the first DA, Billie---she's the one singing with Meat Loaf on that. :shocking:

I remember hearing that. In fact, I watched a live video of it last night while I was looking through songs, and it was her in the video.

My best friend was in a frat and at each party, some point they would reach a point of intoxication where it was played and everyone would start singing it(at least the guys who weren't date raping somebody). Song has been rooned for me.

He picked the Cure? Well, It's know he likes that stuff.

Which song? Not that I would know it but I'd like to keep the list at the top ofthis page updated until I crash in an hour or two.
