Paul ryan, wow

Recommended Posts

Put a tweet up there bragging about the Trump tax cut by talking about a secretary who gets an extra dollar fifty per week. And how that should more than cover the cost of a membership to Costco.

He got jumped on so hard and so fast he deleted the Tweet. Coward.

And what did Ryan get for helping the tax cut go through? The Koch brothers gave him half a million dollars.

How out-of-touch are you that you actually think an extra dollar fifty a week makes a difference? Especially one to brag about on social media as a major GOP accomplishment?

Funny. This is the same thing liberals say when they increase our taxes.

Did he try explaining this?

I could imagine him using Voice to text on phone and saying 'buck fifty' (meaning $150/week) and it puts it at $1.50.

Either way, to me he looks like Hanover Fisk from the animated movie Heavy Metal. https://imgur.com/gallery/tFn8T

With him also saying the 'more than enough to cover a Costco membership' part

.. probably actually meant $1.50.

Then he's a focking idiot for posting it and a jacka$$ for meaning it.

Here's good context.

Lancaster woman bemused by mention in viral Paul Ryan tweet

“Oh internet,” was the lighthearted lament of a Hempfield High School secretary who found herself referenced in a viral tweetstorm and national media coverage Saturday.

The Associated Press reported that House Speaker Paul Ryan tweeted about Julia Ketchum, of Lancaster, who was named in a previous AP business story about changes in tax withholding sparking bigger paychecks.

Ketchum had told AP her check went up $1.50 per week and, while the quote wasn’t a stretch, she more or less felt put on the spot to say something.

“(AP) asked me what I’m going to do with the extra money,” Ketchum recalled. "My Costco membership was the only thing I could think of at the time that would be covered.”

Ryan, linking to the AP story, presented Ketchum's quote as benefit of the Republican tax overhaul, but then deleted the tweet after online criticism that touting such a small amount made him look out of touch.

Ketchum was surprised her quote even made it to the AP report, she said.

“Especially since they picked up on my $1.50-per-week increase,” she added. “People interviewed before and after me had hundreds, and when (Ryan) chose to tweet about me, that cracked me up.”

Regardless of any political context surrounding the tweetstorm, Ketchum said all the attention at least seemed to validate her tax withholding.

“I’m hoping it means I have my deduction set at the right place, since there was very little change,” she said.

Ketchum had no further comment regarding the tax bill, but said her newfound internet fame should be interesting to explain to students and colleagues on Monday.

Lol at Dems complaining about people keeping more of their own money.

They are only truly happy if they are taking other peoples money.

Prior to tax bill: It's a lie!! You're going to pay more in taxes!!

After tax bill, hundreds of companies raising wages, giving bonuses, investing billions in future jobs...."Haha we have a lady making $1.50 more! See!!"

Spoiler alert.... you're going to lose again.

Most of us would rather brag about people getting $1,000 than a Bismark sized crap they took.

$200 a month is a lot of money to a lot of people. I realize that's "crumbs" to the liberal elite, but for those who need it their lives will be better off.

There is a split second I forget the 'ch is posting as naomi' thing and the vitriol takes me aback.

Filthy, I should actually do the math but from a super passing glance, it was significantly more than this ladies but still generally a small amount. Not complaining. Will see how things go in the longer run.

Also that was a purely unpartisan post meant to match the spirit of CMH's.

Whatever your total is, it will go back into the economy. Now multiply that by millions of people receiving and spending those dollars. Hard to believe the Democrats (not a single one voted for this) thought this was a bad thing for America.

I'm from WI and I'm satisfied with him.

I just usually hear him talked about as the king of the establishment, thats all. I dont have a major problem with him, as republicans go.

Hell, If I had one bullet and its him or Pelosi, she probably gets it.
