Nearly a dozen Republican senators announce plans to vote against counting electoral votes
By Jake Tapper, Lauren Fox and Veronica Stracqualursi, CNN
Updated 8:04 PM ET, Sat January 2, 2021

(CNN)Nearly a dozen Republican senators and senators-elect announced Saturday they will vote against counting electoral votes next week when Congress is expected to certify President-elect Joe Biden's victory -- despite no credible evidence suggesting widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election.

The 11 Republican lawmakers said they intend to support an objection to the Electoral College votes, if one is brought, and propose an election commission to conduct an "emergency 10-day audit" of the election returns in the "disputed states." The group includes Sens. Ted Cruz of Texas, Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, James Lankford of Oklahoma, Steve Daines of Montana, John Kennedy of Louisiana, Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee, and Mike Braun of Indiana, and Sens.-elect Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming, Roger Marshall of Kansas, Bill Hagerty of Tennessee and Tommy Tuberville of Alabama.

"A fair and credible audit—conducted expeditiously and completed well before January 20—would dramatically improve Americans' faith in our electoral process and would significantly enhance the legitimacy of whoever becomes our next President. We owe that to the People," they said in a statement, adding that Congress' vote on January 6 is the "lone constitutional power remaining to consider and force resolution of the multiple allegations of serious voter fraud."

Pence appeared to endorse the move on Saturday.
"Vice President (Mike) Pence shares the concerns of millions of Americans about voter fraud and irregularities in the last election. The Vice President welcomes the efforts of members of the House and Senate to use the authority they have under the law to raise objections and bring forward evidence before the Congress and the American people on January 6th," said Marc Short, the chief of staff for the vice president, in a statement to CNN.

GOP rep. Louie Gohmert called for republicans to take to the streets in the same manner as BLM and Antifa.  THe MSM labeled Gohmert's claims as "false".

https://www.yahoo.com/news/rep-gohmert-calls-street-violence-183409939.html

In an interview Friday evening on pro-Trump news network Newsmax, Gohmert falsely claimed that letting the will of the voters stand would “mean the end of our republic, the end of the experiment in self-government."

Gohmert then seemed to encourage violence as a means to this end. “But bottom line is, the court is saying, ‘We’re not going to touch this. You have no remedy’—basically, in effect, the ruling would be that you gotta go the streets and be as violent as Antifa and BLM.”

We see a theme here in early 2021 with the mainstream press trying to incite a riot by falsely claiming the charges of election fraud are baseless and lack evidence.  Sworn testimony is evidence.  I could provide you with cases where sworn testimony was enough to win a trial if you like.  It is most certainly evidence.  The media is committing lies of omission by not telling you that.

You sure seem to be trying to prove there is a civil war coming as opposed to throwing out ideas how to stop one.

The charges ARE baseless. Trump had over 50 chances to present evidence in court and failed. It has nothing whatsoever to do with “the mainstream press” - that tired old bogeyman that the right keeps trotting out is so utterly sad and pathetic. Was there a trial that only you know about related to the election? If so, please inform us all about it.

Unfortunately because they rejected it, the courts have been discredited too.

Let’s assume for a moment that everything went lily white, it really doesn’t matter if 75 mil + people think something nefarious happened. That’s a serious problem for democracy and our republic. How are you going to fix that?

I would like an explanation though in a year with historic levels of mail-in - absentee ballots, rejection rates dropped significantly. Logically they should rise.

Georgia 2018 - 3.10% / 2020 - 0.6%

Michigan 2018 - 0.57% / 2020 - 0.46%

Pennsylvania 2018 - 4.45% / 2020 - 0.28%

Nevada 2018 - 2.05% / 2020 - 1.00%

Arizona and Wisconsin 2020 numbers are not available yet but Arizona rejected 0.45% in 2018 and Wisconsin rejected 1.68%.

This phenomenon also happened in the few states available that Trump won as well. (Iowa, Oklahoma, N&S Carolina)

Does that seem odd to you?

One way might be a serious, bipartisan investigation of the election results, fully backed by the media, announced IMMEDIATELY after the election.  Instead, we got the liberal skyscreamers immediately declaring the election was fair.  That sure as hell didn't help.

Dozens of failed lawsuits haven’t convinced Trump that he lost. What makes you think he and his supporters would accept the results of this investigation? Obviously their sore loser temper tantrum will only end if they “win”.

There’s still plenty being litigated Source

Do you or don’t you find it odd that the rejection rates came in at historic lows?

This will never happen because there was nothing unfair about it to begin with. The votes were counted, and in some states, recounted more than once. Quit the whining already.

That source you linked debunks every single “voter fraud” conspiracy theory in the state of Michigan. And the quote you put here doesn’t appear on the linked page.

Nope. People were extraordinarily engaged in this election, with the highest turnout ever. People were very careful to make sure their vote counted. In addition, voter purges in many of those states since 2016 are directly responsible because they cleaned errors out of the voter rolls, thereby reducing rejection rates.

But if you come at this with a totally unscientific point-of-view where you’re convinced that fraud happened, anything can look like “evidence.”

Yeah, millions of people were extraordinarily engaged in this election on behalf of Jobama. Didn't you see the size of his rallies? They were yuuuuuge!

Yes, a lot of people really cannot stand Trump. He never even got to 50% approval. Why is it surprising to Trump supporters that he is so hated? It wasn’t surprising to the other side that a lot of people hated Hillary... You personally cannot believe that 81 million people voted against Trump. I am surprised it wasn’t more. He has made this nation a world-wide laughingstock.

Biden voters tend to be too smart to go out to a rally in the middle of a pandemic. You’ve already got a dead pro-Trump congressman even before the new congress started. Stupid is as stupid does.

Barack Obama was under 50% approval for almost his ENTIRE second term.  So by your logic, a lot of people really cannot stand Obama.

The difference is the perception filter of the mainstream press.  The press commits lies of omission by almost NEVER reporting that Obama was under 50% approval but trumpeting to the MOON his approval rating if it ever snuck above 50%.  It creates a false reality that Obama was liked.

There is zero evidence of voter fraud. It’s just an excuse for Trump getting his butt kicked in the election. Trump went in front of judges that he himself appointed and still lost. You can keep clicking your ruby slippers together and saying “the vote was a fraud” but you’re not Dorothy and this ain’t Oz. Wake up to reality.

You can keep telling yourself that there's no evidence of fraud if it makes you feel better. Those of us paying attention know better.

If you think Biden got a bigger % of the black vote than Obama got, there's no reason to continue this discussion. You'll believe what you're told to believe.

I assumed from the beginning that the massive cheat by mail scheme was just that, a cheat by mail scheme. Im on record here saying as much. Maybe President Trump got that from me, who knows?  :dunno:

Regardless, the Democrats in this country are known for committing voter fraud. It's not something that just came about in the 2020 Presidential election. It's well established. They just pulled out all the stops this time to get rid of the biggest thorn in their side that they've ever had to deal with. To the detriment of the entire country.

Congrats on the "win."  Enjoy the fallout.

I see no evidence in this post; just gut feelings, like “omg I can’t believe more black ppl voted for Biden than Obama!” The turnout for this election was higher, political engagement is very high because of the Trump effect... this surprises nobody that is actually paying attention. Dems are NOT known for voter fraud. That’s a massive deluge of lies with, and as usual for Trumpkins, with no supporting evidence.

It is noted also that you already assumed mail-in voting was a scheme to cheat. You made up your mind before a single vote was counted. Not a good way to establish your credibility.

The country voted Trump out. Sorry you can’t believe it, but it’s the truth. A lot of liberals were shocked when Trump won in 2016 but they didn’t blame it all on fake voter fraud and/or threaten a civil war. Your guy lost; suck it up and find a better candidate for 2024.

I'm not trying a case here counselor. There's plenty of evidence to support the fact that irregularities, unscrupulous activity and, indeed, fraudulent voting took place in this election. You can bury your head in the sand if you want but it won't make it go away. You'll have to deal with it at some point.

But just for shitsandgiggles, let's entertain your idea that Biden got more of the black vote than did Obama, given the fact that Trump siphoned off a significant portion of that demographic.

Explain that. I'll hang up and listen.

I guarantee I will never need to “deal with it at some point” since it didn’t even happen.

You want an explanation that makes sense to you of why people voted the way they did? Go to any major city and bring up Trump, don’t expect anybody to speak favorably of the guy. Add to that the fact that 82% of Americans live in/around urban areas now, and it shouldn’t be a surprise that he lost. He’s extremely unpopular in large cities, and since that’s where most of the population is, you’re unlikely to win without a decent level of support there.

I was hoping you had facts, not opinion.

How many major cities do we have compared to everywhere else?

Who givesashit what the idiots in major cities want when the majority of the country consists of the area in between major cities and the people who reside there?

You got nothin.
