We don't really know that it's any more mild than prior strains yet (hopefully it is).   ALL of the variants have been mostly mild.   But ~0.5-1% still adds up.

Not calling for the border to be shut down or at least saying people should be tested before coming in is proof of that, it’s not a “different issue”.  It’s denial of science for political purposes. I think border crossers should be tested, yes.

Not every case has been sequenced.   Hospitalizations are increasing in the area where it was found.   (But, like Delta, even increasing hospitalizations doesn't necessarily mean it's more dangerous).

It's a health law that is on the books that the Trump administration authorized in order to turn away people at the border and deny them entrance to the country. Prior to that being enacted (I believe within the first month of the pandemic taking hold here) the US has always granted the right to seek asylum to people coming to the border.

So as I have tried to say to hardcore a few times but he doesn't get it- the border crossing is more of a political question which Fauci is not, or should not, be answering. But flights and stuff like that fall more under his health jurisdiction. Again- it is a MSM reporter playing gotcha with a president

It's purely political.  That's very, very obvious and very, very stupid since no one would even care if border crosses got tested.  The only reason people are defending it is the blue team is doing it.
