Pelosi wants to use 25th amendment to force Trump out of office

Recommended Posts

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/pelosi-trump-talking-25th-amendment

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi made a dramatic announcement during her weekly press conference Thursday by telling reporters that she intends to discuss a constitutional measure to remove President Trump from office, following questions regarding Trump's health as he recovers from coronavirus.

The 25th Amendment allows for the vice president to become acting president if is determined that the president "is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office."

"Tomorrow, by the way, tomorrow, come here tomorrow," Pelosi said. "We're going to be talking about the 25th Amendment."

Pelosi had earlier questioned the status of Trump's health, as well as exactly how long he has had COVID-19.

“I think that the public needs to know the health condition of the President," Pelosi said. "There's one question that he refused to answer … when was his last negative test?" Pelosi said that this information is necessary in order to “make a judgment about the actions that were taken after that.”

"Let us see a date, a time when you last tested negative," she added.

The 25th Amendment requires a declaration of the president's inability from the vice president and either a majority of either the heads of executive branch departments "or of such other body as Congress may by law provide," to be sent to the speaker of the House--in this case, Pelosi--and the president pro tempore of the Senate--currently Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa.

While the amendment allows for Congress to pass a law that would create a body to sign off on such a declaration, Pelosi would have to convince Senate Republicans to go along with it. Plus, Vice President Mike Pence would also have to sign the declaration as well, which would be highly unlikely.

Trump said during a Fox Business interview Thursday morning that he is "feeling good," and does not believe he is "contagious at all."

During a recent interview on ABC News’ “This Week,” Pelosi was discussing Trump's nomination of a new Supreme Court justice to replace the late Justice  Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Pelosi gave a cryptic response when asked whether she and House Democrats would move to impeach the president or Attorney General Bill Barr in an effort to prevent the Senate from acting on the nomination.

“We have our options. We have arrows in our quiver that I’m not about to discuss right now, but the fact is we have a big challenge in our country,” Pelosi said.

Since then, she appeared to rule out impeachment, telling reporters, "I don’t think he’s worth the trouble at this point."

She needs to be removed. I've never liked Mars, let them have her.

She wants to remove him from office because he has the sniffles? How more pathetic and blatantly obvious can you be?

Interesting...  If Biden is a lock to win why force him out now?

But that would be interesting as well...  He resigns and Pence becomes President and if Biden wins the election, he pardons Trump before leaving office...

That would piss them off even more...

This should have been done by the White House when Trump first went on the Dextrtherapanflutherapiopiaode Steroid. They are literally allowing him to take down the entire party with his psychosis. It is no secret how this steroid affects the mind. Anxiously, paranoia, etc. All things that were already Trump's biggest problems.  That joy ride around Walter reed, where he's waving his tiny hands and exposing federal workers to his covid-infested exhales is going to go down as one of the all-time worst political moves ever.  Followed shortly after with the Mussolini balcony disaster and announcing he'll no longer negotiate covid relief for americans affected financially.   I always thought Trump was a moron, but he had a pretty good political sense. Could figure out what was good for him politically.   He made three political-suicide moves within 24 hours.  And now, on a day when even  non-Fox News outlets are admitting that Pence had a good showing last night, Trump sh!ts all over it by ranting about arrests and Hillary's emails on Fox News this morning.  He has lost all his political instincts. There's no way it can't be because of the steroid right?  You don't suddenly lose that for no reason. This is killing all GOP senators in close races. Just disastrous..  He hasn't made a good political move in weeks. And we're 26 days from the election.

Personally, I think Pelosi should shush. Leave him be.  He is Biden's best campaign ally right now. He may as well be wearing a blue ByeDon t-shirt

One day, when guys like Graham and Gaetz, and McConnell, and Jordan are sitting around reminiscing about how the GOP lost all of it's power in 2020, they are going to come to the realization that they ruined their party by missing the opportunity impeachment gave them last year.  They treated it as if Hillary would take over as President if Trump were removed.  When in fact, it would have been Pence.   There is no one who watched Trump debate against Biden, and Pence debate against Harris, that didn't come away realizing that Pence is 10 times the politician and 100 times the human being that trump is.  If Mike Pence was president right now,  the incumbant would most-likely be reelected in November. We would no longer be the worst country in the world in dealing with Covid-19. We would not be months into racial unrest and rioting. Things would be run by adults and decisions would be made in the best interest of the country. Not just the red states.   Yes, Trump sheep would have been livid, but if all the Senators banned together and voted for his removal, those supporters would all be back.  They sure as hell wouldn't become Biden supporters over Pence.  Because of them sticking with Trump, there is a very good chance they will lose the presidency. There's even a chance they lose the senate.  Packing the courts will be the least of your worries if the Dems have the White House, Senate, and Congress.  After the stunts the GOP senate pulled.

Party-ending decision in not removing Trump when he was impeached. They had their out and blew it.   As Lindsay Graham so accurately put it, "If we nominate Trump, we will get destroyed. And we will deserve it"

So, excuse me since I'm new around these parts, but I've noticed a very obvious theme from your posts. Are you the resident trollish big talking, small-minded guy no one takes seriously that's been around for a long time and all the regulars just roll their eyes and say "there goes biff again..." when you make stupid posts?

Or are you actually a gigantic sexist, misogynistic bigot that so perfectly exemplifies literally every single negative stereotype that people have about Trump supporters? I suppose that one of those options is preferable to the other, but best case scenario you're still an ignorant,  moronic gaping a$$ hole that would probably serve yourself and your brethren better by just shutting F up. Your posts are truly sickening.

The point is, we have a country where the citizens decide whether or not you did an amazing job or not.  I guarantee you that Trump wishes he never ran for president. He'd still be out banging porn stars and cheating on his taxes and living the charmed life he's always had.  But he needed the attention.  The accolades.  And wanted to get back at Obama for when he was dressed down at that dinner years ago.  he didn't understand how it would put a magnifying glass on his past financial dealings. And sexual perversions. And tax evasion.

Trump is well aware that he's probably going to jail when his presidency is over.  Everyone knows he's 400 million dollars in debt. The days of him being a playboy because girls think he's loaded are over. And he's going to be a walking punchline.  And he could have just remained a corrupt businessman and faded into the sunset like Hugh Heffner. Tragic tale really.

You're right he could have died living the billionaire playboy lifestyle. But he saw something. A sickness we all see every day. We all complain about the two-party system. That ALL politicians are crooks and thieves and some are very evil people. He decided to stand up to that. You're right if Trump loses he will probably go to jail. His family will be destroyed just like the Kennedys. Maybe years down the road Barron will run for office only to die in a plane crash on a calm clear day and some first lady from out of state will take his spot.

I don't disagree with a lot of what you said. As you said Trump has lost hundreds of millions, he gets made fun of every single night by the late-night comedians. The 6 companies who own 94% of the US media attack him day in and day out. The two-party system attacks him constantly.

So why does he keep going? You say narcissism. I see an old man looking back at his legacy and trying to do right by the country he has had so much success in.

  • Thanks 1

Doubt that---pretty sure he ran for President because his brand was on the decline, he wasn't cashing those Apprentice checks like he was before and was 400M in debt. What'd I think is he wishes he'd never won.  His brand gets millions of free advertising and after he becomes political commentator on Fox for Hannity or O'Reiley money.

As the son of a KKK member and lifelong racist, I do agree that he's trying to do what he perceives is right for the country. He sees a white nationalist country and that's what every move he makes is aimed at. He IS trying to do what's best for HIS vision of the country.  But he's also a power-hungry narcissist. And that often interferes with his ability to do what's best for anyone but himself.  I don't think a narcissist can ever be a good leader.  They're contradiction terms. You can't lead others when your first interest is always yourself.

Sorry if your idea of a normal conversation is not being allowed to say a racist is racist and a narcissist is a narcissist.  You don't want normal conversation.  You want people to view your messiah like you do.

I didn't flip out when you said that Trump decided to stand up for the regular man against evil people.  Even though I found that statement hilarious.

Grow up a little.  Or go to a Breitbart messageboard where no one will disagree with you.  So soft

Nancy continues to give libtards a fantasy they readily believe in. So eager. It’s all she’s been doing for two years. Russia investigation that goes nowhere, an impeachment that never stood a chance, gumming up a stimulus bill with garbage in it that has nothing to do with covid and would never pass. She’s the three card Monty dealer and the ones that lap it up are the rubes that play. Go to Chinatown! Don’t worry about the corona virus, Trumps making it up!
