Sadly we have a tradition of electing republican governors because even the moon-bat libs of this state are scared of what happens when the dems control every branch of state gov't. So we elect repub govs as a check against our own poor choices in every other state election. The state gov't is something ridiculous like 85% dem. Ed Markey, Lizzie Warren, Aryana Pressley, etc. Any state that could even think of electing those people, much less actually do it, has no meaningful red in it. I don't dislike Charlie Baker, it could be worse (looking at you, Deval Patrick). But he is basically an independent who occasionally aligns with republicans.
