San Francisco DA who promised to 'restore' order walks out of debate after protesters disrupt event

San Francisco DA Brooke Jenkins' campaign says hecklers at debate protested for over 10 minutes.

Lots of MAGA were there I’m sure.

Libtard utopias always end well.  The only problem is they never learn that their theories suck and they repeat them.

But they have never tried where they can just print the money.

San Francisco politics is a power struggle between two rival factions, one consisting of far left Marxist wacko freaks aligned with globalist corporate big tech firms, the other of totally diabolical insane far left Marxist wacko freaks, totally lacking and signs of logic or reason, and apparently spawned from portals leading to the pits of hell and/or UC Berkeley.

Maybe this will get that city to pull it's head out of it's arse:

https://www.nytimes.com/2022/10/28/us/politics/nancy-pelosi-husband-assaulted.html

No room for this type of stuff to be happening.  I think both Pelosi's are tools but I hope he makes a full recovery and they prosecute the perp to the full extent of the law.   Good thing they threw out that idiot socialist DA.

There should be no allowance.  But you reap what you sow.

Democrats want to neuter the police and stop prosecuting people....then you WILL have criminals do ever more criminal sh!t....this is simple common sense.

Which consists of a stiff talking to for 30 minutes, a pumpkin spice soy latte, a BLT sandwich, and assistance in filling out forms requesting city-funded for weekly visits to a transgender mental health care professional.

SF recalled their socialist DA.  This will be a good test of whether the new DA is more willing to enforce the laws.

You're right, and three of the worst member of their school board.

I'm sorry I just enjoyed beating on San Francisco lunacy circa 2021 and can't get my head around the idea that their voters actually did something right for the first time ever. I don't like having that comical piñata taken away and am suffering from withdrawal.

I should be more charitable now that they've do something right.

Nah.  I’ll sacrifice one old crook if it helps save innocents. Here’s hoping he doesn’t make it. Greater good and all that.

I've stayed at both of these hotels for work, most recently Parc 55 last November.  What a shame.  I remember when we first started talking about the demise of SF the people from this board who live near there telling us it wasn't happening.  That was a couple years ago.  I wonder what they think now.

San Francisco is really committed to clearing out more places for the homeless to poop. Meanwhile, I'll keep my fingers crossed that all the black residents there become millionaires soon.

Ultimately, the left will destroy everything it touches. SF will be the new Detroit within 2 years.

I don't know about that. It's true that Coleman Young had pretty much converted Detroit from a nice place to live and raise a family into a BLM utopia in about eight-to-ten. But he was in office for twenty years and that ensuing ten years were really important to ensuring that the crime and blight took hold and that is spread further and deeper into the neighborhoods that resisted.

I mean for Detroit, much like the Pittsburgh suburbs in The Last of Us, it takes about twenty years to get a neighborhood to look like that, be it zombie apocalypse or BLM urban planning.

San Francisco has lost 7% of its population since 2019 which was larger than any period in Detroit’s history and unprecedented among any major city. Factor in that Detroits decline was primarily driven by the relocation of many aspects of the auto industry, San Francisco’s decline is driven by leftist policies and the left always doubles down on stupid. The people leaving San Francisco can afford to live there. They are choosing to live elsewhere.

Something to consider about San Fran:

Many Silicon Valley millionaires moved there, pushing real estate prices to absurd levels.  People who used to live there could no longer afford rent or even their property taxes if they owned. People of more modest means left for greener pastures. Those near the bottom of the totem pole ended up on the streets.

One might think all the rich people moving to the area would have helped decrease poverty, but it appears to have had the opposite effect.

City leaders have not done a great job handling this sea change in the area. Now, one could solely blame city leadership, but the economic factors at play are hard to ignore. With a median home price of $935,000, is it any surprise there are lots of homeless people?

But, as usual, instead of discussing the actual causes, it’s just “blame the libs” as the answer to everything.

As for a mall closing, that’s not a problem unique to SF. Most malls have closed. Their heyday of the 80s and 90s is over.

It takes up to three years to build a house in CA due to regulations. These regulations also add up to 40% to the price of a home.

This is a load of crap.  California has a Constitutional Amendment that was passed back in the 70's, because people not being able to afford their property taxes has been a problem there forever.  Prop 13 limits how much your property taxes can be increased in any given year.  So, No, people who owned were not being priced out due to property taxes.  SF has a lot of problems but that isn't one of them.  Just pointing this out to show that, like @The Real timschochet you just make sh*t up as you go along.

I was wrong on that fact; thanks for the correction. Almost all the SF gentrification is due to increases in rental prices.

Oddly enough, I read in multiple articles that a lot of empty buildings in SF are a result of the owners having low enough taxes that they can afford to leave them empty if they aren’t getting the rent they want. An unintended consequence of Prop 13… In DC, for a long time they have had a vacant property tax to deal with that situation. Residents pay 0.85% per year with caps on how much it can go up. If a property is vacant, that goes to 5% per year. That’s a huge amount of money and a massive disincentive to leave properties empty; it has definitely helped reduce blight in DC. I see that San Fran has a similar proposal that will start in 2024. It seems weaker than DC’s method, but maybe it will help.

I hope SF figures this out; it’s crazy for such a wealthy area to have so much crime and homelessness. You’d think the genius “tech bros” could work on solutions, but they don’t really seem interested. They will just keep running private shuttles to their corporate campus, and order all their food using apps.

I assume the moral code of the public is still crumbling after passing prop 47.  Either shoplifting is getting worse or more and more businesses are going under as we go along, or both.

Coffee giant Starbucks is shrinking its footprint in downtown San Francisco following the announcement that it plans to close seven stores in the city's center even as it opens, reopens or renovates other locations in the city.
