I’m sure Trump would have gotten the people out first.  But would he have taken/destroyed the weapons considering I thought most of them belonged to the Afghan army?  If so, then the Taliban definitely would have the country, but based on what happened I’m sure they would have had the country as soon as we left regardless.

Possibly, but that goes back to one of my earlier points.  I see people saying “there hadn’t been any US deaths for awhile.”   But that likely had a lot to do with Trump’s agreement to withdraw.  If either Trump or Biden (rightfully) renegged on that agreement, don’t you think it’s possible that would have changed the Taliban’s actions?

Why do you think there weren't any American casualties in Afghanistan during the last year and a half of Trump's presidency? 

Could it be because the taliban considered Trump to be a man who wasn't to be focked with and they believed that we would leave like he said we would if they behaved themselves until we left? 

Once he was no longer in charge, why would they continue to honor the agreement they made with him? They didn't agree to his terms because they wanted to. They knew there would be severe penalties, perhaps including a longer stay for our troops, if they didn't live up to their end of the bargain.

I’m saying I think there weren’t any American casualties because we had set a date for when we’d withdraw (and I’m not saying doing that was a bad thing).  It wasn’t until that date got closer that they started to take over.

Is it possible Trump would have done something to stop them once they started?  Absolutely.  But in general I feel like 1 of 2 things probably would have happened if Trump was still in charge.   1) We would still have withdrawn, but gotten our people out first, and the Taliban still would have taken over shortly afterwards.   Or 2) we stayed, and the Taliban probably wouldn’t have played nice anymore if they no longer thought we were leaving
