We didn't send them there for a vacation. OK, so we and myriad other nations around the world have a military presence in the NATO countries around Ukraine, but we're not shooting at anybody at this time. Presence is not the same thing as engagement. If you're so dissatisfied with the first wave of sanctions, are you suggesting that we should be in Ukraine and fighting the Russians? Or attacking Russia directly? What will satisfy Her Highness, seeing as you seem to know everything about everything. Perhaps they should put you in charge! Go back and read my original question. I said "conflict." Conflict isn't sitting around in Romania, eating baklava and polishing rifles.

What if Trump's doing that, not for ego reasons, but because he senses this is a good way to deal with Putin? I have no idea, and it's not his role to meditate if that's what he's trying to do, but it's an interesting thought. I'm just as open to the possibility he wants attention and relevance and is not motivated by a higher cause. I'm not saying he believes Putin is ethical or in the right. Maybe he's doing what he can in a trade-off sense, to the best of his wisdom. Speak with flattery while working to maximize your own/your nation's leverage. The other guy (Putin) understands. It's like a transparency which serves to check each other. They know they 'hear' each other. And so will deal on honest terms, at that level.

Here we have trump trying to tell these globalist azzholes they are cutting their own throats, but did they listen? No. Remember when Trump bashed "our NATO partners" they weren't spending enough on defense. That they weren't even spending the minimum they agreed to spend? Of course, the media, Liberals and the Rusty's of the world bashed Trump for attacking our allies? Have you ever talked to a liberal or Euro and they laugh at how much we spend on the military? Then in the very next breath come crying for help? It's all so tiresome watching weak liberals and blind centrists weaken our country and the world. wiffleball 4,790 Posted February 26, 2022 I think this happens to a lot of older guys. End of the day, these young men you could be Fathers and they're certainly brothers and Sons. And who really gives a fock which flag flies? because it turns out to there's no such thing as a benevolent government. But we've been pumping up and sending young men to die for centuries. And to what end? Be a whole different world if the first wave of soldiers in every war had to be over 30. And the son of a politician.

Gepetto 1,373 Posted February 26, 2022 https://www.rt.com/russia/550664-china-xi-putin-respect-ukraine/ Beijing “respects” the actions of the Russian government amid the “ongoing crisis situation” in Ukraine, China’s President Xi Jinping told President Vladimir Putin during a phone call on Friday, the Kremlin has said. The two leaders shared their assessments of the situation on the international arena and agreed to further “closely coordinate” their actions and support each other in the United Nations and on other international platforms, the statement has said. The two also slammed “illegitimate sanctions used by certain nations in their own selfish interests” by calling such actions “unacceptable.” On Thursday, Beijing blamed the US for stirring up tensions that prompted Russia to launch its military operation and urged the international community to avoid “stoking panic” over the situation. China’s reaction drew criticism from Washington as the US President Joe Biden said that Beijing’s reputation would be “stained by association” for failing to denounce Russia’s actions. China hit back on Friday by saying that it is the nations that meddle in other states’ affairs that would have their reputations stained. It also said that it understood Moscow’s “legitimate” security concerns.

The remarks came at a briefing on Friday from Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova. ''Finland and Sweden should not base their security on damaging the security of other countries, and their accession to NATO can have detrimental consequences and face some military and political consequences,'' she said in a translated video clip shared on Twitter.
