The Ukers are beating back the Russians and pushing them out of artillery range of Kharkiv.

Instead of just looking at rubble, you should look at military losses and gains, from personnel and equipment to territory.

I remember when we would get classes back in the 80’s, and a lot of it was focused on Russia. We would ask why do we have to do 25 mile force marches when we could get there by helicopter or some other mechanized method? They explained that relying on a truck or other modes of transportation is what Russia does. They were completely mechanized, which made them vulnerable to artillery, weather, supply lines etc. We, on the other hand, could get to the battlefield at the battalion level in a few hours. Tanks have a lot of vulnerability. Russia never learned that. Most likely due to corruption.  So they weren’t just torturing us. Smart. People laughed at Bill Clinton when under his time in office the Army started buying a lot more horses and cutting the amount of Tanks. I remember Limbaugh poking fun. Turns out the horse in certain environments, with a soldier who could get to an advantageous position could call in artillery or an air strike much more effectively than sending in Tanks. Drones have replaced both now for us. Tanks are useful in urban fighting still, but getting them from place to place is tough. Plus you gotta fuel them and fix them on the fly.

I heard an interview with a woman who went back to Ukraine after fleeing, She was at her collapsed bombed out  home. She said she found her dead husband under the rubble. She could barely continue on about how her life is destroyed.
