It's not surprising that you twist this story into the potential nuclear holocaust you so badly crave, because deep down you're boiling with envy that everything I've been predicting - based on actual facts instead of whacky paranoia - has played out, with the exception of Ukraine perhaps winning the war.

I predicted that Ukraine would fall after putting up an unexpectedly heroic and tough fight, and then insurgency would grind away at the Russian military while life rapidly deteriorated back home and Putin wound up dead or jettisoned from power.

Ukraine stopping the Russians and, after two major battles, pushing them back across the border is a wonderfully stunning development. 

Russia is isolated and hated by almost every country on Earth. Everyday life for Russia has gone to crap. Putin is on his death bed. Powerful people in Russia are screaming for him to go and the war to be stopped. A third of the Russian ground troops sent to Ukraine are gone. Hundreds, perhaps thousands, of pieces of military equipment have been lost, with no way to replace them. Russian troops are killing their own commanders, with myriad desertions. 

Meanwhile, you're like one of those quivering, carpet-wetting kick dogs, clinging to the idea that supporting the country that has been brutally bullied and subjected to horrific atrocities should just quit because of Russia's nuclear threats, even though Putin alone cannot make that decision.

The best way to stand up to a bully is to repeatedly punch him in the face.
