Parroting what? Russia has been threatening conflict for a while, and has actually made moves. The discussion is why? It’s more than him being a brutal dictator.  The crazy guy felt threatened. You tell us why. I don’t think his main goal is to reconstitute the Soviet Union. He knows that’s never happening.  I don’t see how that makes me rootin for Putin.

I've already pointed that out, time and time again.

So you’re going with he wants to regain control of the former Soviet states?

It is rather clear, from Putin's past, they he has always seen Ukraine as part of Russia.

If you think about how this likely happened it can make sense.

Like our leftists today, Stalin and his cronies re-wrote history and framed "history" to assert that Ukraine was always part of Russia, they changed history. And thus you have generations of Russians who have been indoctrinated in the "new truth" of Soviet dogma.

This is what the re-writing of history today in the this nation is a dark spectre.

Putin bringing up Nazis is just as dumb as the left bringing up the KKK and the proud boys.

Correct.  But the question is why do people disbelieve him and yet believe the focking morons trying the same thing here?

It's such a tired and obviously false ploy....

What did Trump do to prevent Putin from attacking and what could Biden have done to prevent it?

For one: Trump assured Putin the Ukrainians would not be allowed to join NATO. He also put sanctions on Russia which Biden removed.

Biden didn’t support the Ukraine until after the invasion started, he could have done this a year ago but didn’t. He actually lifted the Trump sanctions .

I don't think the Nazi take is all that legitimate.

Why do you think he's doing it?

What I think to be true about Ukraine, which I have stated:

Massively corrupt (no debate about this)

Zelensky is a puppet (little debate here)

Outside of pretty much all international oversight agencies (100% true)

Those are factors, but I don't know what they add up to.

Here's a question to you.  Why are we placing financial burdens on private Russian citizens if this is merely an incursion by a government?  What power do we think they truly have?

Yup. Like I said , Putin is spinning his bullshit just like everyone else. It’s not even worthy of any attention. But there the left was, making something out of barely anything. Played right into his hands.

The more people against Putin, the better.  Putin is responsible for everything that is happening to the citizens right now.

Because it will get some Russians to believe it. And many Russians lost a lot of family members to the real Nazis. Those people are fed constant propaganda. One picture of some Ukrainian Nazis will get them stirred up. It’s Russian propaganda, and idiots gave it life.

The truth is that during his administration, Trump’s policy alignment with Putin advanced the aims of Russia’s political elites, who could imagine that the United States was on their side. Their comfort with Trump was evident from the start; Americans may remember that Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov was warmly received in the White House and photographed in the Oval Office, while Russian parliament members toasted Trump’s electoral victory in 2016.

Quote

This comfort evaporated with the election of Biden. And for good reason: from the start, the Biden administration has been at odds with Putin on the issues Putin needs to care about to preserve his own rule. After Biden’s election, Russian political elites once again articulated profound, existential anxieties about a renewed United States projecting its power abroad. State television in Russia emphasized the Kremlin will not allow American influence in Ukraine, “regardless of the cost to us, and regardless of the cost to those responsible for it.”

The Biden White House has taken positions opposite those of the Trump administration on NATO. Biden has insisted on principles of state sovereignty, reaffirming and rebuilding the United States’ trans-Atlantic relationships, including strengthening NATO.

I am amused by those trying to twist this event as Trump-inspired.

It's farcical and it ignored the wider and longer geopolitical factors.  It's really the standard arrogance we find from the left.

Remember the Uranium one deal? I do. Hillary approved it. 2.3 million to the Clinton foundation from the Canadian company that owned the mines, 500k directly to Bill Clinton from Russia. Trump!

Also Zelenskyy  “If you won’t give us planes, give us tanks”. Now he’s in denial. If you could get the tanks there, do they have enough soldiers that can operate them? You don’t just get behind the wheel and start shooting them. It’s time to start thinking about saving some lives.

And I'm amused that you have twisted it into an interpretation that people are saying this is Trump-inspired.  Boebert and MTG have a stronger grip on reality than that.

Not sure.  I don't think we can make that assertion with certainty.  Her actions were political, but I do not see that she is driving the MSM.

Trump said this would not have happened if he were president, and the alt-right painted it as him being Big Bad Trump, even though the real reason was that Russia had it good under him and that he was anti-NATO, anti-Ukraine and pro-Putin.

Putin wasn't going to rock the boat while Trump was in power.

I’m anti NATO not paying what they agreed to as well. I’m pretty much in the KGB I guess.

Russia is going to win this, unless by some miracle the peace talks actually work, but then there will be endless guerilla warfare. Russians already are ramping up the protests, which will only grow larger and turn violent over time as they get tired of the carnage and economic hardships.

Russian parliament can and should remove Putin.

No, not exactly.  Putin has been steadily moving to grab land, and meeting success in doing it, regardless of the president.

It might feel good to make Trump the fall guy, but that is lazy, this behavior on the part of Putin goes back to Crimea, Georgia and Chechnya....

Our focus should be on that.

I'm not making Trump the fall guy. Trump is getting credit for all the wrong reasons for it not happening on his watch. That's all I'm saying.

He's already decided that is how he's spinning the debate, in his world it's already a fact that the left is blaming this on Trump. Your time will be just as well spent talking to a flat-earther.

Post one that even comes close. You’re such a dope. It would be as if I said the south went to war to keep slavery and you would claim I support the south’s position. Saying why someone did something isn’t the same as agreeing to what they did.  You don’t lie to crazy people.  Because they’re crazy.

I believe they were showing they exist after it was claimed they don’t. And they were pointing out how liberals love to use the same tactic to justify their actions. Like invoking the KKK.

I actually defeated a flat earther on social media. She made a Facebook post claiming that on a clear day, the 300-foot-tall Statue of Liberty could be seen from 60 miles away, thereby proving the Earth was flat.

I challenged her to drive over to Canton, Texas, go to the water park there, get to the top of the highest slide and report back on whether she could see the 900-foot-tall Bank of America building in downtown Dallas about 60 miles away.

She said she didn't have the time, so I offered to pay anyone of her choosing to go there and report back. Then she said one couldn't do that without "special equipment," which turned out to be some kind of Nikon camera with a kick-ass lens. I looked up the camera, found one on Craigslist and said I'd buy the camera and pay anyone of her choosing to go there and report back.

Then she focked up and said, "Well you can't see it because of the curvature of the Earth."

Game over. She blocked me, and a mutual friend who happened to be a relative of hers sent me a message saying she had called him, sobbing and questioning the whole flat-earth thing.

I don't believe any educated adult truly believes that the earth is flat.  It's all just a fad.  Anyone that really does believe it has to have some sort of mental disability.
