One way I see this war escalated is things like flaming nuclear plants. They become an imminent danger to the region, then I can certainly see an escalation from NATO or the European Union.

Yeah. They will yell at them. "Hey, stop that. If you don't, we'll only continue buying 90% of the oil we buy from you now."

Why when Iraq invades Kuwait we go to war twice, but when Russia invades Ukraine we stay on the sidelines?

Too easy. Iraq has what we needed. Oil. Ukraine has nothing we need.

Virtual signal while sending millions for oil actual angers me.  It’s a slap in the face of any American who can think for themselves.

It also takes the teeth put of the war for most of us and turns it into yet another lib based, non rational, whine session. Just look at them in this thread, there is no discussing anything. Everything is love/hate, teenage girl logic.

Not sure I follow.

Do you think Putin's claim on Ukraine is valid?  😯

There was no need to tie to to "lefties" or any of that sense.

It is perfectly fine to just say- Putin is crazy. He wants to reform the USSR and doesn't recognize that the people of Ukraine don't want that, and many people in Russia don't want it.

Did we buy oil from Russia TODAY?  I’ll go Google but I want to know.  If we did that’s a focking travesty.

We import Russian oil daily. Russian oil represents about 8 percent of what we import.

Why?

It's a matter of cost-effectiveness, particularly for the West Coast.

Pipelines are one of the most cost-effective means of moving oil, but there ain't a lot of pipelines out on the West Coast.

Marine vessels can carry a sh!t ton of oil, making them the most cost-effective means of moving oil.

Trucks and trains carry it as well, but it's a bit more dangerous due to wrecks and whatnot.

We'd see gas prices go up a bit if we stopped importing, but where cutting off Russian oil would really hurt is Europe, which is super dependent on it.

We've got lots of oil we can bring up and refine, but that takes time.

Energy is where I'm very much on the right side of the political spectrum.

Drill, baby, drill!

The rhetoric was "10 times worse than Chernobyl."

Finding this tense and dramatic is totally understandable. It is. Evaluating how bad it would be by saying that is strategy.

"Powell argued that the "irrefutable and undeniable" evidence left the Security Council no choice but to conclude that Iraq is flagrantly violating its demand in November that President Saddam Hussein disarm, and that to preserve its credibility it has to authorize the use of force to do the job.

"Clearly, Saddam will stop at nothing until something stops him," Powell said. "Leaving Saddam Hussein in possession of weapons of mass destruction for a few more months or years is not an option, not in a post-September 11th world."

Twas the sanctions that led to war more than anything.  They are a dangerous tool, poorly administered, and rarely enforced.

The tactic is the primary weapon of the left. You challenge their position and suddenly you hear "white supremacist", "racist", "misogynist", homophobe" on and on and on....

There is little attempt to defend the position so much as cast a label on anyone who might challenge.

They do that as soon as you don’t agree with them. And then they try to come off as the not divisive ones. It’s pretty hilarious really

The past few weeks I've been called a cuck, a simp, a pedo, retarded, mentally ill, because I challenged the notion that Putin was not justified in his invasion.

I know.  Most people don't think what they do is wrong but have no problems calling others out on it.  I've been guilty of it myself before.

Not true. Ukraine is crazy rich in natural resources, including neon, which is used in a lot of stuff.
