Rams open as 4 point favorites for the Super Bowl

Recommended Posts

Probably will change a little one way or another in the next 2 weeks, but I'm not sure yet on this one. Cincinnati looked pretty darn good in that comeback.

Should be a fun Super Bowl.

That’s a pretty good spread but I’d probably take LA. The Bengals OL scares me.

Yeah, Rams D Line versus Bengals O Line is not pretty on paper.

I’ll be rooting for my box numbers, and then the Bengals if my numbers look like they don’t have a chance.

Sometimes a team is over it's head and is just happy to be there.  Let's see how the begals team handles reaching the super bowl and all the distractions in Los Angeles over the next 2 weeks.  I'm sure the rams will be sending entertainment to the bengals hotel room every night.

At the start of the season, who the heck would have thought these two teams would be facing off in the SB.

It is an intriguing matchup though. Rams have a dominating D-line, and the Bengals have a dominating receiving group including Mixon and Perine.

If one team can run the ball well, that might be the tipping point.

You think Cinci goes to LA to spend this week? I haven't heard anything. Or is that what teams usually do?

you can look at it the other way

the team is together sticking together in hotels, while the rams players are going about normal lives

Rams have the pressure of playing at home in a game they are expected to win

I think it will be close, as every damn game in the playoffs this year

I will take the points easily, and consider money line

Yeah, I'm torn here.  On the one hand I like to root for my division to represent.  On the other hand, LA teams can go gargle a back of d1cks.

That being said I think the Rams steamroll them.  I'd probably go -6.5, maybe -9.5.

if this playoff season has told us anything, its going to come down to the final 2 minutes, and no lead is safe

Bengals were down 18, Rams down 10 in the 4th

not to mention the previous weeks

So true.

I bet the KC and SF players are feeling great today.

I think the Bengals are living on luck, they keep winning because of luck, I wonder if that continues.

I still think the Bills were the best team this season. And going into next year although I know nothing about  their contract situations with their players.

Is Pacman still on the team?

Wait and buy the hook if necessary to get it to -3.0, imo.  That's what I did yesterday.  Stafford deserves a title.

The Bengals scored exactly the same number of points as the Rams this season and only gave up 4 more, but the Rams get all the credit for being a great offense and defense.  :dunno:

Not sure points scored can compare to the recent spate of games that the Bengals won on luck, but maybe there is a measure in there that matters 🤔

Luck retired a few years ago and was a horse, not a tiger.

Nah, they won on diligence.  What difference does it matter on the order the points are scored, Joe Burrow never got down and the defense balled when it had to.

The Rams have had some luck as well. A guy dropping a probable game winning TD yesterday comes to mind.

Their core of important players will all be back next year. They’ll have to make some decisions in free agency but all in all it should be the same team mostly at the start of next year. They have already lost one of their coordinators and possibly might lose Frazier too if he lands a HC gig somewhere.

I prefer seeing the best teams, I feel like we are being shorted....thats all

I really thought the line would open closer to 6 or 7,  but I think the game will actually be closer, so maybe the line's about right. I've got no strong feelings, but I'll probably root for the Bungles to finally win one. If not, I hope at least my squares come in.

I guess that is where our debate is, I think we are seeing the best teams. If not the best, certainly very close to the best.

I like the Bengals and  the points at this time. But that very well may change next week.

This past weekend I lost on the Rams -3.5. But it was just a small bet at $35 thankfully.  But I'm still loving having put $70 on the Bengals straight up at KC at +285.

Burrows needs a little time to let Higgins and Chase down the field and that will be tough against the Rams. The Rams need to run the ball though.

It's a tough game to call.

Yeah. Just look at who they beat consecutively in the playoffs.

Raiders, Titans, Chiefs

Cardinals, Bucs, 49rs.

That's a pretty tough road to get there.

I assume both teams had a tough regular season schedule as well, but i cannot find the final breakdowns of 2021 strength of schedule.

I've seen strength of schedule get updated through out the year but those are mostly for only the remaining games in the season. I don't recall seeing someone revise the strength of schedule at the end of the year to reflect the whole season that was just played.  I think you would have to look at next year's strength of schedule attributes (win/loss % that they use going into 2022 and whatever other categories you want to factor in) and reapply it to this past year's teams schedules for 2021. So whatever criteria (formula) you use that could be done.

The Bengals basically need to shut down Kupp.  OBJ is a doosh.  He can't carry the weight.  I think the Bengals win.
