Anyone have an air fryer?

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking of giving one a try of the hell of it. I currently use my oven to make some things that are normally deep fried. I love deep fried food, but it's too much of a hassle for me to want to deal with.

Anyone got recommendation on a good brand of air fryer or what recipes are best in them?

I recently bought my mom one.  One of the Ninjas.  She honestly uses it a lot.  I'm not keen on them nor have I ever used one.  They take up too much counter space and the entire concept is what?  Why can't you just use the stove?

Mostly about being health conscious and mostly not wanting to deal with all the oil.

Yes, use it all the time.

What brand? And what's your favorite thing to cook in it?

Can 4 adults eat from one at the same time?  That’s my drawback.

What, do you live in a commune?

I’ve yet to make them, but recently bought a 10lb bag of pork chips that look like rocks. If you put them in frying oil they expand to make pork rinds. My plan is to throw them in the air fryer and see if it works.

I'm looking at this one. Hell, Bed Bath and Beyond at $400 with 20% off coupons they keep sending out. I may give it a try.

We have a cheapo...makes awesome eggrolls and chicken patties.  Does take up too much counter space like said before.

Yeah. I would probably keep it in the oven if it fits. As a storage space since they both do the same thing. Not sure if that is realistic.

No. Nope. We have a microwave that air fries and convection ovens. Tried the air fry once, never again.

Get a T-Fal fryer, has oil filter and storage. Easy clean.

The boy got me one for Christmas. Chicken wings came out great. That's the only thing I've made so far, but the kids have made a few different dishes which they said came out good.

I have this one. It is awesome. We only use the oven for things that are too big for the air fryer. Wings, fries, tots, and yes even steak. Almost everything is cooked using the French fry button and then adjusting the time if necessary. Fries and tots, French fry button. Corn on the cob, French fry button and double the time. Eggo waffles, French fry button and reduce time to 5 minutes. Wings, French fry button, flip wings, rotate racks, French fry button again.

I love broccoli.

You wouldn’t eat broccoli if it was deep fried in chocolate sauce.

I cooked 7 chicken Nuggets in mine a few hours ago and turned out good and wanted more. I was lazy and just ate a sandwich after.

I'm telling you.  Youtube, bro.

I'd much rather watch this than read it.

I bought this Oster oven about 3.5 years ago at Kohl's. Under $50 - Still works great.

They don't make that exact model anymore, but it looks like a similar one now sells for around $125

Inflation

Dimensions are similar to the Breville oven mentioned above.

Wife got one years back and it’s fantastic. Like others said, great chicken wings. And it reheats leftover wings and stuff back to new. Wife cooks other stuff for kid like frozen pizza bites, french fries, chicken nuggets, and such. It’s really quick too - just 2-5 minutes like a microwave.

They sell all sizes, but I like our medium. Less real estate and don’t really need the big one anyway. Forget the brand - I’ll post it when I get home.
