Twitter adopts 'poison pill' to prevent Elon Musk takeover

I already did.

Look if I am trying to destroy someone's Twitter algorithm it doesn't work if you jump in.

Thanks for ruining the joke ya jerk.

I am curious as to how graphic the "sexualization" was because I still kind of doubt there was just open public posting of child pornography...but you know not curious enough to check into it because I don't want to send Google or whatever authorities the wrong ideas about what I search out online or want to see in my personal life in general.

Wrong as usual.  It's like you just read the parts of articles that let you justify your stance.  You are ignoring the report from early 2021 mentioned in the same article.

That report said that despite needing some new technology, they were still “managing the workload.”

Heres an interesting quote from the former CEO:

Interesting.  So a person spends all of those years learning how to think, then takes a job which prevents people from the opportunity to think.  🤔

No, he's trying to encourage people how to think like he does.

I get it buddy.  You're gonna believe what you want to believe.  A bunch of activists who have been after Twitter for years have come out praising Musk for doing what Twitter refused to do previously, but you don't want to believe them.  I get it.  Just like Covid all over again.

I have no idea what you're talking about.  You're saying there wasn't any legit child porn on Twitter.  That's absolutely and provably false.  But you're just a troll so, like with Hack, I get it.  Carry on.

No liar, I said I commend him for seemingly improving from what they were doing previously, I’m just saying it seems irresponsible to say they “refused to take action for years,” and it’s probably a little early to be declaring a win for Elon already.

But they did.  They had outdated tech and refused to invest in the needed tech to combat the current problem.  I won't say they didn't WANT to act, but their actions were token at best as evidenced by the links I posted.  But we all get it.  If someone pretends like they were doing something significant that's good enough for you.  Most of us judge things based upon action over time, and the FACT that Musk has done more in a month to combat child porn on Twitter than the previous owners did for years is proof that the previous owners weren't doing anything significant.

Elon says he will do something. But I read the shared articles in this thread. This is a difficult and expensive problem to handle. And it requires numerous staff members to review the content. But Musk laid off most of the people who were already working on the problem. So how is he going to make good on his claims?

He added some sort of software program. Problem solved!

Let's look at the flow of the thread. Someone asked if there was really child porn on Twitter. I said "I doubt it." Which is of course not definitively saying there is none and is allowing for the possibility there could be. Because I really don't know because I don't troll Twitter or the Internet for child porn like some of you seem to do.

You posted your links- which point to a problem but is vague about what was actually posted (at least from what I read in the articles which TBF I skimmed a little).

Then HT had to chime in because he pathologically can not get by without commenting on everything I say. I said "I guess you know more about child porn than me" WHICH WAS A FOOKING JOKE!

He called me a liar so I said "Prove me wrong" WHICH AGAIN WAS A FOOKING JOKE to see if I could get him to use his search feature to look for child porn on Twitter- because honestly the dude is not that smart and I thought it would work.

You've now spent multiple posts continuing on about 2 obvious jokes....

Feel better?

Funny you should mention him, because you often ask questions instead of stating your opinion, just like he does.  The next time you see me ask you "what do you think, Tim?", it's because I've noticed you doing it worse than usual.

Musk isn’t paying his bills.

Quote

To cut costs, Twitter has not paid rent for its San Francisco headquarters or any of its global offices for weeks, three people close to the company said. Twitter has also refused to pay a $197,725 bill for private charter flights made the week of Mr. Musk’s takeover, according to a copy of a lawsuit filed in New Hampshire District Court and obtained by The New York Times.

Twitter’s leaders have also discussed the consequences of denying severance payments to thousands of people who have been laid off since the takeover, two people familiar with the talks said. And Mr. Musk has threatened employees with lawsuits if they talk to the media and “act in a manner contrary to the company’s interest,” according to an internal email sent last Friday.

You can't rise to my level of wit either apparently.

Also, I've never wished rape on a kid so I got that going for me over you as well.

Tucker asks rhetorical questions that he already knows what his answer would be, but doesn’t want to come right out and say it.

I ask questions of other Geeks that I don’t know the answers to, because they often contradict themselves so it’s hard to understand where they stand on certain issues.

If people ask me a question, I will try to answer it to the best of my ability and try not to answer it with another question.

In this case of course, I was simply commenting on Roth’s tweet, which looks to me like a question without giving an opinion.

Tucker brought up a great point tonight. Why were so many former FBI and CIA agents working at Twitter? It’s a social media company.

1)  Anyone can track ANY plane.  All these dude needs to do is post Elon's tail number and then anyone can go to https://flightaware.com/ and type in the tail number in to the flight # field to track that plane.  For example, here is what you get for the plane with tail number N5306U:

One QAnon-amplifying account on Telegram with 118,000 followers, known for spreading a bogus claim that Russian fighters were targeting “U.S. biolabs” in Ukraine, said the tweet was only his latest flirtation with QAnon ideology.

“Elon called out Fauci for creating [covid-19], [is] calling out the woke hive mind, is paving the path for 2020 to be nullified and Trump reinstated … and now he’s directly quoting Q,” the account said. “Elon is an Anon,” the account added, using the term QAnon disciples call themselves.

On some level I don't blame him. I mean Musk could have innocent people on the plane and I think it is idiotic for people to track it because of how unhinged some people can be. (Same thing with saw with the Project Veritas stuff lately)

However, it is also idiotic to try and paint yourself as the champion as free speech and say "I'll never delete the account" to just do it. Basically you are showcasing that you are not what you purport to be..

So essentially- lots of stupidity in all of this.

Nope I defend against stupidity. How does an article headline musk hasn’t paid rent in weeks when it’s the middle of December. Is he supposed to pay daily?

im sorry logic doesn’t sit well with you

In all fairness, I agree, Musk can suspend anyone he wants, and probably should suspend this guy.  I was just making the "FREE SPEECH!@#$%" joke.
