Stephen Colbert and Adam Schiff Insurrection at Capitol Last Night; Arrests Made

Recommended Posts

So, last night, 6/17/22, Adam Schiff snuck around a dozen Stephen Colbert staffers into the Capitol, off hours, illegally, to run around and commit shenanigans. They got arrested.

Do a search. No, stupid, not Google. Anything but Google.

So, when is the hearing?

Nine staffers and producers for the Stephen Colbert Show were arrested at the U.S. Capitol for attempting to breaking into a House building after-hours. Fox News’ Chad Pergram confirmed the news on Friday.

“Fox confirms that group of persons associated with The Late Show Stephen Colbert were arrested last night and charged with illegal entry to House office buildings after hours,” Pergram wrote on Twitter. “Fox is told the people were arrested in the Longworth House Office Building.”

“The group was in the Cannon House Office Building earlier in the day trying to get interviews around the time of the 1/6 committee hearing,” Pergram continued. “However, USCP shooed them away because they did not have proper press credentials.”

“However, the group surfaced later that night after the Capitol complex was closed to the public Fox is told they took pictures and video around the offices of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Lauren Boebert (R-CO),” the report added. “They were unescorted and arrested and charged with illegal entry. They were arrested near Boebert’s office. They were released overnight. Fox has confirmed the arrests of these nine persons through a senior House source.”

The following were arrested, per the report. (This updates the list to nine total.)

  • Jake Plunkett
  • Allison Martinez
  • Tyrone Dean
  • Stephen Romond
  • Nicoletta Green
  • Brendan Hurley
  • Robert Smigel
  • Josh Comers
  • David Feldman

“Robert Smigel is known for being the voice of Triumph the Insult Comic Dog,” Pergram noted. “He also produced short cartoons for Saturday Night Live’s ‘TV Funhouse’.”

The report added the following notes.

USCP have issued the following statement: “On June 16, 2022, at approximately 8:30 p.m., U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) received a call for a disturbance in the Longworth House Office Building.”

USCP: “Responding officers observed seven individuals, unescorted and without Congressional ID, in a sixth-floor hallway.”

USCP: “The building was closed to visitors, and these individuals were determined to be a part of a group that had been directed by the USCP to leave the building earlier in the day.”

USCP: “They were charged with Unlawful Entry. This is an active criminal investigation, and may result in additional criminal charges after consultation with the U.S. Attorney.”

Fox News reported more information, per legal analyst Jonathan Turley.

“Jesse Watters just aired a report that a crew with Stephen Colbert were arrested last night at the Capitol and charged with unlawful entry,” Turley noted. “Two members were mentioned as allowing them into the building, including House Intelligence Chair Adam Schiff. Rep. Rodney Davis seemed to confirm the basic facts in the segment. While much still have to be confirmed on the details, the charge would be the same as most of those who were arrested in connection to the Jan. 6th riot.”t

“The segment suggested that they were banging on doors as part of the skit with a comedian who has appeared on the show,” Turley added.

As Chuck Callesto noted on Twitter, the staffers included high-level producers. If this were Fox News, you could only imagine the media meltdown. Since it is Stephen Colbert illegally attempting to harass Republican House members, it will be interesting to see how widely this attempted “insurrection” is reported.

I would expect they get the same charges and punishment as the low-end tourist /nonviolent /selfie version of the Jan 6th people got.

Why weren't they shot?  Apparently it's "ok" to shoot someone for doing this.

A year in solitary confinement? Give them 10 years.

Colbert playing games with Schiff.     Color me shocked.     Is he going to go back to dancing with Schumer too?

Has anybody gone from "mildly funny" to "total d-bag" faster and harder that Colbert?     Maybe Kimmel, but he seemed to take a little longer to get to total d-bag status.

It's amazing how liberals never get embarrassed at their own idiocy.

Of course there are a few on this site that demonstrate that daily here.

Will Congresswoman Bobert be as traumatized by this as AOC was from January 6th?  Probably not since she was probably armed, wherever she was.

No shlt. You don't see the conservatives focking whining and crying.

Sounds worse than January 6th, but nowhere near as bad as the riots of 2020.

So filming a segment for Triumph the insult comic dog is way worst than an angry, bloodthirsty mob of Clownzo loyalists assaulting police, bashing through barricades, breaking into windows, kicking down doors, trashing the place and setting out to kill the vice president, speaker of the house and any other Democrat they can get their hands off while the president joyously jerks off while watching it on television.

Yeah, this was way worse, but keep parroting Cucker Carlson's catastrophizing and journalistically irresponsible bullsh!t.

Fock. I wish the republicans would throw around the "demise of democracy" as much as the left does.

They would be so confused on what to respond with they would lose control of themselves.

Our Capitol is burning.

😂

Quote

“Their interviews at the Capitol were authorized and pre-arranged through Congressional aides of the members interviewed,” Luczak said in an email. “After leaving the members’ office on their last interview of the day, the production team stayed to film stand-ups and other final comedy elements in the halls when they were detained by Capitol Police.”

Quote

Simply by violating notice and trespassing on private property can earn the defendant jail time. The crime is considered a Class B misdemeanor and is penalized with a fine of up to $2,000 or 180 days of jail time.

Was this the Colbert crew?

All of a sudden pimpledoosh doesn't think it's a big deal.

I think it's terrible, worse than the Battle of Stalingrad, D-Day, Battle of the Somme and Battle of Gettysburg combined.

I mean, someone might have LITTERED or engaged in unauthorized toilet-paper usage in a Capitol bathroom.

Or, gawd forbid, slipped on a freshly mopped floor and gotten hurt.

And they were there to FILM.

 😱

I hope they get prosecuted to the fullest extent of a Class B misdemeanor. This could have derailed democracy!

Dang, if the country was on cruise control and the border was secure etc, I could tolerate this stupidity from the left.

But it's a serious long way away from that right now.

You're such a dumbass.

It was dumb to be where they weren't supposed to be after they were told to leave. They deserved to be arrested. They need to pay a fine.

But comparing this to Jan. 6 is just stupid.

No one got hurt, much less killed. The intent was to film. There was no property damage, as far as we know. There was no intent to murder anyone. No one has been formally charged, and if they do get charged, it most likely won't be a felony. A handful of people were arrested, as opposed to the 865 charged with the Jan. 6 attack.

This was not insurrection. It was a bunch of dopes who shouldn't have been where they were and should have left when they were told to leave.

Poor judgment is a far cry from rioting with murderous intent and wanting to derail the democratic process.

It's so easy unleash pwnage on your dumb ass.

It’s a corporate left late night host that went too far trying to put together a gag skit. I wouldn’t get too worked up about it. It’s trespassing on par with what 95% of the January 6th protestors did.

yeah. And that is the last thing I care about. Same as the 2021 selfie fest.

I care more about what's going on right now, not that garbage with the capital building. But that is not how the majority of the US government feels.

The 2020 riots set a precedent that can and will be repeated if the conservatives take the house again.

This is 9/11 multiplied by a thousand.

You can't overlook the danger of Triumph the Insult Comic Dog. As we are well aware, dogs, also commonly referred to as land alligators, are the most dangerous animals in the United States. They bite, hospitalize, maim, cripple, and kill more humans than any other animals in this country.

Additional, the staffers were running around the hallways with nooses/cables, and blunt weapons/cameras, and knives/microphones, searching for any and all Republican Congressmen/Supreme Court Justices to murder, as directed by every Democrat operative/sh!thead in the country.

And let's not forget dangerous Stephen Colbert, who chokes the life out of comedy on a daily basis. Run away. Run away.

Yes, Triumph was going to lay down some vicious insults, and he would have gotten away with it if it weren't for those meddling Capitol police officers.

I'm sure they all had phones, but it doesn't look like they had weapons or intent to harm anyone.  It also sounds like no one was hurt.  While the whole thing is pretty funny, it's not very comparable.

A cop killed an unarmed women in the infamous 1/6 event.

Other than that, it was like kindergarten pranks compared to the 2020 riots. I don't want to hear it.

It was a much bigger deal than what happened with Colbert and why does it always get compared to the 2020 riots?  Everyone here agrees the 2020 riots were much worse.

Comparing it to Jan 6 is a stretch. The real comparison is if people who worked for Tucker Carlson did the same thing, and a Republican let them in, and then they harassed AOC and the squad, would Pimpadoosh and Hawkeye and other Libtards think so little of it ? The MSM would go nuts. Maybe Tucker isn’t the best comparison, seeing as he gets ratings unlike Colbert. Maybe Louder With Crowder?
