10 year old rape victim that couldn't get an abortion in Ohio. FAKE STORY? Maybe?

Now some mysterious unknown illegal appears to be the rapist.

Who can even confirm this?  MSM can say anything.  For all I know they grabbed some homeless guy and are making it up.

I dont believe anything anymore.

Well, a lawyer would be violating his oath to the bar/legal system if they went to court and lied about it.  I'm not saying that's never happened.  There certainly have been corrupt prosecutors over the history of this country, but one would have to be an idiot doing so in such a high profile case.   See Nifong, Mike.

I’ll take my L. But it’s a sad commentary when the Attorney General of a state doesn't know the laws of his state. My fault for listening to him I guess.

Any pictures of the guy?  His statement?  How they found him?  Anything besides "we have a guy"?

USA Today

Gershon Fuentes, 27, whose last known address was an apartment in Columbus, was arrested Tuesday after police said he confessed to raping the child on at least two occasions. He's charged with rape – a felony of the first degree in Ohio – and is held in the Franklin County jail on a $2 million bond.

The child's mother reported the girl's pregnancy to Franklin County Children Services on June 22, which informed Columbus police, Detective Jeffrey Huhn said Wednesday at Fuentes' arraignment. The girl underwent a medical abortion in Indianapolis on June 30, Huhn said.

I think when ANY WOMAN has to cross state lines because she has different rights depending on what party runs the state, it's political by default.

I think it would be in everyone's best interest that when these occasions happen, the woman should stay in that state.  Let's get political segregation rolling.  The sooner we can do this, the better off everyone will be.

I've looked and don't see where she COULD legally get an abortion in Ohio.  What I've read is Ohio had  a trigger ban in place should Roe fall(No abortions after 6 weeks--no exceptions). After that, since it's a minor and it's medical records, not much more to know. Very easily that the little girl didn't know she was pregnant until after 6 weeks.

Perhaps the people who are saying she didn't have to travel to Indiana could step up and provide the proof that she could get one in Ohio.

That didn't go into effect until June 26th.  The AG filed the motion on the 24th.  The mother notified the county about the rape on the 22nd.  She could've gotten the abortion in Ohio.

In the days before details emerged of Fuentes' arrest, some conservative media outlets and Republican officials had expressed doubt about the case or whether the girl existed.

Rep. Jim Jordan, an Ohio Republican, tweeted, "Another lie. Anyone surprised?" The tweet has since been deleted.

I’d agree with this.

But even when most here thought the story was fake, I think many are missing the point.

From the updated Columbus Dispatch article:

“Ohio’s General Assembly is expected to ban abortions even earlier than the 6 week ban, with no exceptions for rape or incest.”

Can’t we all agree that this girl shouldn’t have had to travel to Indiana to get an abortion?

No. It's state's rights.  If the people of Ohio want it that way, then that's the way it should be.  If a woman wants an abortion, she can go get one... where ever that may be.

Yeah, because gas and airfare are incredibly cheap right now. And 10-year-olds can pretty much go wherever they want whenever they want. I mean, it's not like this country requires you to have identification at all times.

Nothing you said changes my opinion.  I mean, the girl got there didn't she?  Someone brought her, right?

I'm willing to bet that the reason why so many Republican's didn't know about it was because it was purposely withheld by the people involved, with a few select people "in the know".  Come on, do you really think JOE BIDEN would have the breaking news on this?

I don’t know anymore. He says she could have depending on the circumstance, the other side says the law doesn’t say that.  I surrender.

.. so in your little mind, the dreaded liberals wanted to trick the gullible innocent  Republicans into spreading a fake story about it being a fake story? So the liberals could look smart after that?  😁🤔

Well, he filed the motion for the 6 weeks on June 24th, AFTER the girls mother said the kid was pregnant.  The motion wasn't passed until the 26th, so I'm guessing he's right, that she could've gotten the abortion on the 22nd.

I'm willing to bet that the doctor and mother knew the girl was pregnant before June 22nd.  I'm willing to bet it was the doctor's idea to hold out on letting .  Also that she told a very few select other's who could get the message out to the right people.

I think it's funny that Hillary Clinton created a fake document to get Trump investigated and then have the nerve to say I'm gullible because I don't trust a liberal.  Anyone who trusts ANY liberal, isn't a very intelligent person.

It was still reported by the newspaper who quoted a doctor.  Just hadn’t been verified.

I don’t follow Ohio politics so I guess I’ll take your word for it, but they ran on a platform of anti-abortion laws before there was even any hint that Roe v Wade might be overturned?

But the exemption would have been based on the health of the mother?

Everyone who votes for a Republican has to know that they're running on a "Pro-life" stance.  If they're running on a "Pro-choice" stance, then there's no issue right?

No.  Ohio was still under the RvW rules until the AG filed the motion... which he didn't file until June 24th and passed on the 26th.  Of course, I don't discount the possibility that I read it wrong.  Here's the link on the article I read.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that under the post R/W Ohio law that there would be an exemption, based on the health of the mother?

No one is wondering how within 24 hours of people questioning this story, some illegal was magically arrested for it?  I'm not saying this story is 100% fake, but.

c'mon man!
