It probably didn’t happen. Just saying, based on the AG’s quote it sounds like 1) rapes aren’t necessarily reported to AG’s office and 2) AG’s office doesn’t necessarily collect the evidence if there’s a reported rape. Also, do you order a rape kit for a rape that happened days or weeks ago? I don’t watch Law and Order SVU.

Probably.  I don’t recall all the prior conversations about it, but I am pretty sure at one point either Pimpadeaux or vomit had actually phrased it as a hypothetical, which naturally happened again here and I think is a valid question.

However, I think that is giving the righties an out, because I assume most would be OK with an abortion in that specific instance.  @MLCKAA was actually the first one to really talk about rape victims in general.  And that is a topic where not everyone agrees.  But I found it interesting that in the other thread I believe it was @Masshole that claimed (paraphrasing) “most people are OK with abortion up to ~15 weeks,” however that’s clearly not the case at the GC when you have people that don’t even think rape victims should be allowed to get abortions (and yes, I realize rape victims make up a small minority of those getting abortions).

Yeah, I have no problem with it.  My only issue with abortion is that when women get one, just so they don't have a kid, my tax dollars pay for it.  I don't agree with abortions, but if you want one, pay for it out of your own pocket.  Rape victims, mother's life in jeopardy, babies life, that kind of thing... I'm ok with tax money being paid for those.  Those aren't "whoopsie's, I got knocked up".  That said, I'd like a police report and rape kit for rape victims.  I'm in favor of catching those people.  I also don't want idiots saying "Oh, I got raped", just so they don't have to pay for the abortion.

It is a challenging topic.  I have a RVW position that is difficult for me to even quantify— I wish people would not have abortions, but I didn’t want RVW overturned.  It’s an internal struggle.  However, I would say that in rape-related pregnancies I’d prefer that women not have an abortion but I’d acquiesce.
