Oh I know. Problem is there are a select few here that act like this and will flat out lie or deny obvious facts. They’ll try to twist your words (like the typical liberal) into something you didn’t say so that can try to talk more Sh1t. They’re pathetic. The lot of them. Posts like this are just designed to play off of nostalgia for "how we were growing up." Funny thing is people who grew up in the previous generation would say the Gen X generation is soft. 

 

Kids today are hardened in different ways. Yes there are some douchey ones who get their feelings hurt by stupid things but there have always been people like that in every generation. There are plenty of millennials and generation Z "kids" who would lap Generation X'ers.

Also, all the stuff of "we didn't need safe spaces" or "get hurt over words" or any of that stuff is silly. Especially coming from a bunch of dudes who get hella mad because a CGI dude kisses another CGI dude for a split second in a kids film. And I guarantee you- by and large- the kids of Generation Z and whatnot do not care about gay people or those kinds of things being taught in school. It's a part of their existence.

Compared to the generation before, they are soft. It is has been a steady march for decades, each generation trying to be softer than the one before, recently delivering the insufferable cvnts we see today.

I get it if they are Korean and it runs in their culture, but these are white people and the kids won't know what it's like to live on their own until they are in their late 30s. It's just seems unhealthy somehow.

I know a guy whose kid got a degree in English. The kid never used the degree for anything because he ended up not liking the job opportunities not to mention the actual stuff he learned. He just did it because he thought it was elite learning at the time. The kid is broke and waits tables for a living. Dumb kid. I don't put him down for waiting tables for a living, but going through 4 years of college and accumulating massive debt to wait tables for a living seems like a bad decision. And to boot, the kid is an insufferable liberal with an attitude who thinks he's above anyone that doesn't think like he does. Still begs off the parents though.

Social views are all askew these days the way kids think. They forget to just take care of one's self first. After you take care of yourself, then go make your big impact on the world if you want. Go save the world from global warming after you are able to support yourself. Of course, if you have a real job, then you can't hang out in the streets all day carrying signs about the world coming to an end. And maybe you even learn to understand that the earth does what it wants regardless of you thinking someone can control it. 

And leave the supreme court justices alone for God's sake.

We used to "skitch" in the winter time. When the streets had snow and ice on them, we would hang out near stop signs and when a car stopped we would squat down and grab onto their rear bumper and the car would pull us down the road. I think a lot of the drivers new we were doing it and just went along with the fun and drive all over the road to see if we could hang on.

Didn’t snow that much here in SC. When I lived in Maryland it did. Almost lost my foot to frostbite up there during the blizzard of 97/98 (can’t remember the exact year)

Bottom line, the reason I called out that he was a Millennial is that I thought it seemed odd that the topic was specifically about Millennials describing Gen X'ers, and he responded with "that sounds like my childhood"...except he's a Millennial.    At least several post later he did clarify and actually made a statement I agreed with that Millennials kinda had the best of both worlds.
