The Forward party.

Recommended Posts

I have been following this and Andrew Yang for several years now.  I have so many thoughts but can't find the effort to type that much so I will Cliff Notes.

1.  I respect Yang because he is in this for the right reasons.  I might disagree with him on a lot of things, but at least he thinks outside the box.

2.  With that said last election cycle he started to "sell out" to the Democratic Party just to get votes and while it turned me off, I think its why he started this so-called party.  He hated himself for having to bow down to some of the crazy left wing ideals going on currently.

3.  With that said (again) the Forward Party is pretty much the old school Blue Dog Democrat Party.   Much better than the current weirdo's, and my ears are peaked but I need to see where it goes.

The group cites issues including guns, climate change and abortion as those that could benefit from a moderate approach.

Cool. 3 important issues.
Now tell where you stand on each.

During the first debate in 2020 they asked if illegals should receive free healthcare and he raised his hand along with all the other liberals onstage.  He showed me then that he was right where he belonged.

Hopefully not on all three.
They're supposed to be moderates with this "new" party, right?
I doubt they will go down the road as your post said. (at least publicly, they won't)

They can’t be moderate imo. Yang is woke as there is. And a socialist to boot

This is all we need. Two liberal parties. Jeez, wake up to reality.

Let's just pray November goes as is expected.

A real 3rd party would be great (i think) but there is no way the Rs and Ds ever let this happen. The new party would have to be able to pull enough moderate Rs and Ds out of their party and sign up us independents. I would join if it could weaken the 2 party system but after established, I would quit the party and go back to independent.

You could've just done that by voting Republican.

You may recall I said that the Democrats are fomenting the creation of a third party

This is a natural reaction to a party that has gone off the rails and is now so radical people of good character will move away

I don't care how many parties there are. I'm not voting for a liberal nut job. And currently, that is about the only kind of liberal there is these days.

The Forward party won't end well.  What's going to happen is that they'll take more from the Democrat party than from the Republican party and the Republican's will end up winning everything, which would be the best for this country... but that's besides the point.  The point is, there's more people on the Left of the ledger in this country... at least that vote anyway.  That's where Yang's party will pool from because the basic foundation of his party is "Big Government".  The thing is, the Democrat party has gone so far left, that in order to gain traction, he's going to have to pull from the the right... but he can't because the right is not in favor of "Big Government".  So, his best course of action would be to move further left to pull in some of the less extreme Democrats.  When he does that, he'll lose his base.

I disagree that the problem with the 2 major parties is that they cater to the fringes. I think the problem is that they have no solutions to the big issues that affect all Americans (wages, healthcare, the cost of housing and education). So they focus on wedge issues to keep their side fired up without actually doing anything.

It’s the fringes that ruin the two party system.

this will go away, for nothing else but the name.  Imagine how annoying SNL is going to be once the first headline of “joe smith (F) Indiana”

see they say screw Indiana!

I see it as the Democrats need victims, so they create them and call every Republican names, to create a divide.  They push further left until everyone on the right is considered "extreme".  Clearly, people on this board are buying the crap they're selling.  Are their extreme/fringe righties?  Of course, but the number is extremely small and blown way out of proportion.  I mean, if January 6th didn't prove that, I can't imagine what would.

Come one, we literally had 3+ months and 10's of thousands of people terrorizing cities, buildings, and people (yet not called terrorists), and millions of dollars... then on January 6th, you had what liberals call terrorists, about 500 people and 8 hours of disorderly conduct at the cost of like $50k.

What policies from the fringe right actually become policy? I’m not denying the existence of the fringe right, but they don’t get any play. The far left actually sets the agenda. Saying it’s the same is just ignorant and a relic. MTG sits on no committees and is shunned. The squad has their hand in everything.

$2B in insurance claims compared to the Nancy Pelosi's spare change jar in her kitchen. Liberals will not even talk about the comparison.

I don't understand how they are not embarrassed by this whole made for TV drama they are putting on when everyone knows they are just a hate group at this point.

Exactly.  It's like people just want to ignore what's in front of them.

Readily available guns with few regulations, abortion effectively outlawed in several states, for profit healthcare, government surveillance, nonstop military action abroad, shrinking organized labor, record corporate profits etc.

If the fringe left is in charge they’re doing a really bad job of setting policy!

If the fringe left is setting the agenda why is US policy on every major issue centrist/right?

Trump spent his only term in office carpet bombing 6-7 counties at the same time. You have a very odd definition of “anti war.”

When Trump was dropping bombs he was scrutinized, as it should be.  When Biden completely botched Afghanistan it was in and out of the news, the little that did get reported, in a flash.

Obviously you don’t pay attention. Who is voting against funding Ukraine. Who is the ones telling nato to pay their fair share. Those are republicans stances.

and yes when trump came in he had warhawks running the defense so of course that happened
