Wherefore art thou Grape Soda?

Why can't I find grape soda anywhere? I was really craving it today. Opted for a watermelon mountain dew which wasn't awful. Tastes like a watermelon jolly rancher. And a Sunkist orange. But still, what's with the grape soda?

I've never liked the fake grape flavor in soda or drink mix; it is by far the least realistic tasting fake flavor.  Fake orange is kinda orange tasting (then again I grew up on Tang, back in the 70s when we loved fake things like thinking baby formula was better for infants than breast milk).  Fake cherry, strawberry, raspberry, apple, mango, all have a semblance of taste of the real thing.  But that fake grape... what is it, other than "fake grape" which we've come to expect?

I agree, fake grape taste nothing like grape but I also feel that way about cherry. Growing up, fake cherry always had kind of a sharp, burning taste to me. Hated it. but I love cherries. Real cherries to me have a nice little tart kick to them. All the fake cherry stuff always reminded me more of cocktail cherries. 

watermelon, also no. I like fake watermelon taste but lets be real. Watermelon is so bland most of the time, the fake flavors are so much stronger.

It’s the wasting of something you people consider valuable as a means to bother you. Similarly, if I was trying to get under the skin of a jew, I might scatter loose change all over the ground and make them watch.
